The Position

With several growth initiatives underway, Radient is seeking an entrepreneurial leader to lead our Canadian operations as Director of Operations. In this role, you will bring your leadership, operational experience, and ability to build and motivate teams to Radient’s rapidly growing manufacturing operations in Edmonton, Alberta. You will collaborate with your teams, peers, and senior leadership in order to meet aggressive objectives while maintaining an unwavering focus on safety, product quality, and maintaining a positive corporate culture.

Role and Responsibilities
  • Lead Edmonton-based operations teams to execute full range of product manufacturing, from raw material procurement, production, refinement, packaging, fulfillment, shipping/receiving and maintenance as prescribed;
  • Monitor and maintain safety and product quality-focused culture and team behavior;
  • Develop onboarding and training for operators, supervisors, and other team members;
  • Create effective organizational and communications structures for all aspects of team management including planning, scheduling, coaching, process improvement, and performance measurement;
  • Effectively resolve operational issues relating to health and safety, production, quality, regulatory compliance, and distribution/fulfillment issues;
  • Maintain high standards for quality and safety, while following standard operating procedures (SOPs), good manufacturing practices (GMP), and Radient’s applicable policies and codes of conduct;
  • Lead and implement continuous improvement initiatives;
  • Work collaboratively and closely with peers in Engineering, Quality Assurance, Finance and other teams;
Qualifications and Expectations
  • Bachelors or technical degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or Operations Management;
  • 10+ years of significant experience in the industry; leadership or management experience is preferred;
  • Strong team-building skills and ability to motivate others;
  • Team-player mindset, collaborative, excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Comfort with ambiguity and a strong entrepreneurial drive, with a willingness to take responsibility and act independently;
Non- Technical Skills
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, customers, vendors, and managers; a positive attitude and ability to work well with others is essential
  • Management and leadership experience
  • Must be able to learn our business and take the initiative in learning
  • Outstanding multitasking and organizational skills
  • Excellent English communication skills (both written and verbal)
