The Opportunity

Reporting to the Manager, People and Culture, the HR Assistant is responsible for providing general HR support with a variety of administrative responsibilities, ensuring complete accuracy and confidentiality. This is an opportunity for an individual with strong interpersonal skills to join a dynamic team in a growth-oriented company. If you consider yourself a consummate organizer, take pride in seeing tasks and projects to completion, are able to manage competing priorities under tight deadlines (and still have a little fun) this may be the role for you!

  • Provide administrative support to the HR Leadership team
  • Update internal databases (e.g. Org. charts, record sick or maternity leave)
  • Help maintain the HRIS system and prepare necessary paperwork for various HR functions
  • Preparation of monthly reporting (i.e. Headcount)
  • Arrange travel accommodations and process expense forms
  • Assist payroll department by providing relevant employee information (e.g. leaves of absence, sick days and work schedules)
  • Producing, printing, scanning and filing of applicable HR documents
  • Participate in HR projects
  • Assists with Corporate events such as Happy Hour
  • Liaise with remote sites to coordinate flow of paperwork for HR
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Post-secondary education with a focus on Human Resources an asset
  • Working knowledge of employment standards legislation and progressive HR policies and practices
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to assess situations not only from an HR perspective but also from a business perspective
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal communication, written communication and presentation skills
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills to set and exceed established goals, schedules and deadlines required
  • Strong initiative to take direction, apply learning’s, and execute on requests;
  • Ability to maintain confidential information as it pertains to HR issues
  • Possess advanced level computer skills in word processing, email, spreadsheets, and presentations
  • Ceridian Dayforce experience and asset
  • Previous experience maintaining org charts an asset
