Senior Cannabis Store Clerk

This is a full-time 1-year term position, working 75 hours bi-weekly.


This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as the Senior Cannabis Store Clerk at our new cannabis retail store. Reporting to the Manager, Cannabis Operations, the Senior Cannabis Store Clerk performs a variety of retail store functions in support of the effective, efficient, socially responsible, client-centric retail of approved cannabis products in accordance with standard operating procedures and cannabis retail policies.

The Senior Cannabis Store Clerk is responsible for all opening and closing processes and procedures, and facilitates access to educational materials and features of the social responsibility section of the store. The Senior Cannabis Store Clerk is also responsible for providing and overseeing the provision of retail sales of cannabis to the public, ordering and receiving stock, inventory management and supporting staff.

Essential Qualifications

Please submit your resume clearly demonstrating the qualifications below, as selection for further consideration will be based solely on the information you provide:

  • Considerable experience in a retail and client service environment
  • Experience maintaining accurate transactions in a Retail POS / ERP system
  • Recent financial management and cash balancing/handling experience
  • Experience with inventory management and control
  • Experience working in a regulatory environment
  • Experience leading or supervising a team is an asset

Desired Knowledge, Skills and Suitability
Candidates should have and may be assessed on the following:
  • Knowledge of cannabis products and strains and/or a demonstrated interest in the cannabis field
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (initiative, professionalism, positive attitude, problem solving, conflict resolution)
  • Exceptional client service skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Strong organizational skills in a work environment that is challenging and detailed oriented
  • Ability to work in a confidential manner
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment in order to refuse service to intoxicated and/or underage customers

Additional Information:

Job Requirements: Wearing and maintaining a uniform provided by Yukon Liquor Corporation, some heavy lifting (up to 40lbs) is required and working Monday to Saturday on a scheduled rotational basis.

Conditions of Employment: Must be at least 19 years of age, have and maintain a security clearance, valid Class 5 Driver's Licence. Must successfully complete mandatory cannabis training which will be provided by the employer.
