The Extraction Technician is responsible for in process inspections of hemp, extraction and evaporation of solvents. This position must adhere to all Company safety policies and procedures in addition to state regulations for recordkeeping, inventory, and waste disposal.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Operate extraction machines to extract hemp.
  • Supervise, sort and grade hemp prior to extraction.
  • Transfer hemp extracts for further post-extraction activated (e.g. solvent evaporation and post processing)
  • Maintain documentation & record keeping
  • Follow cGMP guidelines
  • Perform all technical procedures adhering to the operation, technical, and quality control policies and guidelines.
  • Maintaining, adjusting and repairing extraction equipment.
  • Categorization and retaining of waste in accordance with established guidelines.
  • Perform all duties in compliance with safety and OSHA regulations; including proper use of PPE.
  • Follow SOPs and make suggestions for revisions.
  • Proper use of scales for product and supply inventory tracking.
  • Other responsibilities will include record keeping, accurate data logging, routine facility maintenance, and equipment maintenance.
  • All members of the team are expected to take part in the overall workflow, organization, and functionality of the facility with proper use of time management and an ability to multitask.
  • Ability to obtain forklift license and operate forklift to load materials in a safe manner
  • Adhere to all safety guidelines

Qualifications

· Demonstrated problem solving/decision making skills

· 2+ years manufacturing, lab and/or packing plant operations

· Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team and lead others to work as a team

· Attention to detail

· Proficient in Microsoft Office programs, word, excel, power point, access, etc.

· Understanding of Safety, 6S, and be willing to learn through provided training.

· Ability to use a computerized inventory management system

This role requires consistent collaboration with other experienced extractors and a support team of internal and external subject matter experts.</p><p><b>Responsibilities</b></p><ul><li>Responsible for supporting the Laboratory Director in optimizing production and maintaining a safe environment</li><li>Operate equipment and follows standard operating procedures including but not limited to cleaning, running equipment, setup, breakdown, maintenance, tracking, handling chemicals, and quality control</li><li>Monitor temperatures, pressures, and other metrics on operating equipment as well as solvent levels, supplies, and safety and productivity of colleagues</li><li>Communicate with support teams and management continuously regarding sales orders, production schedule, regulatory requirements, safety, inventory management, maintenance schedule, and supplies.</li><li>Timely completion of work per schedule and strive to increase productivity through coordinated workflow and process improvement recommendations</li><li>Ensure accurate inventory including bulk extracts, packaged extracts, infused products, hardware, job supplies and solvents including hydrocarbons, ethanol, and pentane</li><li>Keep documented logs and notes of room metrics and extraction activities for company records</li><li>Analyze data of current and past extraction cycles to continuously improve our processes and standards</li><li>Maintain clean rooms and workspaces at all times by regularly sanitizing tools, equipment, and rooms</li><li>Use PPE as required: gloves, lab coat, eye protection, respirators, footwear, and hairnets</li><li>Perform all other duties as necessary and any additional duties assigned by your supervisor/manager</li></ul><p><b>Required Qualifications, Experience, and Skills</b></p><ul><li>Excellent communication skills and ability to work well with a team</li><li>Be a reliable team player</li><li>Positive attitude day in and day out</li><li>Work effectively with minimal supervision</li><li>Demonstrates ability to organize and prioritize work</li><li>Ability to work well under pressure</li><li>Marijuana product knowledge and passion is a plus, but not required</li><li>Serve as role model for other employees and encourage adherence to safety practices, policies, and procedures</li><li>Have strong service and quality focus.
