Key Responsibilities:

Create and manage Antidote’s overall quality program and lead in developing, reviewing, and maintaining uncomplicated SOPs to ensure compliance under the Cannabis Act and Regulations.
Develop training programs around SOPs and assess training gaps continuously.
Create detailed processes for production batch record review including deviations, change controls, and sanitation records.
Oversee and develop a pest control program, facility and equipment maintenance procedures, record keeping, sanitation, and quality control systems
Oversee analytical testing on each lot or batch of cannabis; ensure testing is conducted using validated methods, investigate deviations and out-of-spec results; determine release, quarantine.
Collaborate to develop and perform internal audits regularly to determine quality assurance compliance according to Cannabis Regulations.
Perform analysis of reports and production data to identify trends and recommend updates or changes to quality standards and procedures when necessary.
Investigate complaints regarding the quality of cannabis production and ensure immediate corrective action when necessary; take corrective and preventative measures.

Education / Experience:

Current Health Canada Security Clearance in an approved QAP role required
Post-secondary education is preferred however direct experience will be equally considered
3+ years experience in regulated industry; GPP / GMP preferred

Experience with QMS software preferred
Demonstrated experience identifying opportunities for continuous improvement and taking initiative to lead them to completion

This role will span both cultivation and manufacturing operations in all production facilities.Once the national standards are implemented, the role will shift to quality control and maintaining the integrity of the national quality assurance program, GMP compliance, and other quality-related measures.Leadership• Support the mission and core values of the company.• Review monthly quality performance, major non-conformances, corrective actions and drive improvements through root cause analysis.• Comply with all policies and procedures established by Holistic Industries management.• Other duties as assigned, or any reasonable request from any member of management.Functional – Quality Assurance• Develop and utilize global key performance indicators for manufactured and externally sourced products to monitor quality performance and effectively manage non-conformances.• Develop, implement, and manage processes to ensure that products meet required specifications for quality, function, and reliability prior to delivery.• Prioritize and implement predictive tools and techniques.• Identify and set national quality standards and parameters for products.• Communicate quality standards and parameters to the product development team, operations team, audit team, and other appropriate staff, both orally and through written procedures and other documents.• Ensure the identification and attainment of any controls, processes, equipment (including inspection and test equipment), fixtures, resources and skills that may be needed to achieve quality requirements.• Ensure documentation of the quality process during production process, inspection, and test procedures.• Update inspection and test procedures as needed, including the development of new control points.• Ensure the clarification of standards of acceptability for all features and requirements, including those which contain a subjective element (appearance, flavor, texture).• Oversee internal R&D testing for new packaging or processes.• Manage lot traceability of raw materials.Functional – Quality Control• Develop and deploy quality audit programs to verify quality performance criterion are met for in-process, end-of-line, and end user.• Investigate quality events and bring to resolution.• Monitor compliance to established Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) requirements.• Review in-process batch documentation, logbooks, test results, and documentation practices.• Identify, recommend, and perform quality training as needed.• Identify potential quality risks and ensure that we are proactive in addressing potential issues.• Assist production personnel in the investigation of root causes and in implementing corrective and preventative actions.About You:General• Regulations require that incumbent be at least 21 years of age and able to obtain and maintain state marijuana work credentials.Education/Experience• 5 or more years of experience in food safety, pharmaceuticals, or similar role is required; food safety experience is preferred.• Bachelor's degree in food science, chemistry, biology, agronomy, or a related field is requiredTechnological Skills• Possess competent computer skills and be able to enter and maintain data accurately.• Experience effectively using computer systems, software, and hardware common to laboratories' record keeping procedures.• Experience in Metrc a plus.Required Knowledge and Skills• Must be able to evaluate information quickly, identify key issues, and formulate conclusions based on sound, practical judgment and experience.• Must have a strong sense of personal ownership while maintaining a team-oriented environment.• Strong math, analytical, and organizational skills.• Ability to prioritize workload.• Self-managed and highly motivated.• Problem solving skills and sound judgment.• Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office.• Excellent oral and written communication skills.• Must be able to work effectively in a dynamic and complex environment.• Positive outlook with the ability to adapt to a changing environment.• Willing and able to undertake significant travel (approx. 50-60% depending upon proximity of residence to any assigned facility</div>","company":{"companyType":"Private/Established","name":"Holistic Industries","logoUrl":"/logos/holistic-industries-4220d7f16955c0fb84c141cd558dad64.png"},"location":{"country":"United States","address":"Capitol Heights, MD, United States","city":"Capitol Heights","stateProvince":"MD"},"frontendLink":"/job-posting/holistic-industries/quality-assurance-specialist/f3b943bf2814bcca35b80b00310ab819","title":"Quality Assurance Specialist","category":"Agriculture & Farming","hash":"f3b943bf2814bcca35b80b00310ab819","postingUrl":"https://getwork.com/details/bf7356f0ce3e5cc7d17b31d7bfb722fe","timestamp":1642775046330,"postedOn":"NaN days ago","salary":"$49k - $78k"}]
