Overview:

Antidote’s Quality Assurance Person (QAP) plays a critical role in our success. 


Our QAP is responsible for the verification and validation of quality assurance, ensuring that cannabis products meet the objectives for quality, safety, regulatory, and customer expectations in accordance with the Cannabis Act and relevant regulations. 

The QAP will advise on, establish and monitor Quality Management Systems, and coordinate activities to meet production and product quality standards.

This role is tasked with creating clear and manageable documentation for internal and external audiences while complying with regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create and manage Antidote’s overall quality program and lead in developing, reviewing, and maintaining uncomplicated SOPs to ensure compliance under the Cannabis Act and Regulations. 
  • Develop training programs around SOPs and assess training gaps continuously.
  • Create detailed processes for production batch record review including deviations, change controls, and sanitation records.
  • Oversee and develop a pest control program, facility and equipment maintenance procedures, record keeping, sanitation, and quality control systems
  • Oversee analytical testing on each lot or batch of cannabis; ensure testing is conducted using validated methods, investigate deviations and out-of-spec results; determine release, quarantine.
  • Collaborate to develop and perform internal audits regularly to determine quality assurance compliance according to Cannabis Regulations.
  • Perform analysis of reports and production data to identify trends and recommend updates or changes to quality standards and procedures when necessary.
  • Investigate complaints regarding the quality of cannabis production and ensure immediate corrective action when necessary; take corrective and preventative measures.
  • Point of contact for Health Canada inspections


Education / Experience:

  • Current Health Canada Security Clearance in an approved QAP role required
  • Post-secondary education is preferred however direct experience will be equally considered
  • 3+ years experience in regulated industry; GPP / GMP preferred
  • 2+ years of GPP/GMP Manufacturing 
  • Intermediate computer skills using Microsoft Office including Word and Excel
  • Experience with QMS software preferred
  • Demonstrated experience identifying opportunities for continuous improvement and taking initiative to lead them to completion
  • Demonstrated ability at effective team building and excellent people skills

  • Ability to manage conflict and maintain strong team relations


This position is being offered as part-time; approximately 25-30 hours/week over the next 3-4 months and 20-25 hours/week ongoing.
