The Production Laboratory Technician will report to the Senior Manager – Extraction and R&D or other designated management as required. You will be responsible for producing a finished product that is derived from Cannabis, for sale under the Cannabis Act.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:

Extract and refine target compounds from cannabis materials as per prescribed procedures;

Formulate cannabis extracts for commercial use using qualitative and quantitative data in conjunction with standard operating procedures;

Ensure starting materials and finished products are in compliance with current Cannabis Regulations;

Upkeep electronic and physical inventory records of all cannabis and non-cannabis materials used and produced within the department;

Review and update standard operating procedures and documentation forms as required;

Actively keep up to date with current advancements in research, equipment and procedures within the cannabis industry relevant to the department;

Must be able to lift 30 pounds;

Coordinate and assist with other departments to fulfill interdepartmental objectives as needed; and

Additional duties and responsibilities may be added more modified as required throughout the course of your employment.

WHAT YOU BRING:

Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry or Biochemistry;

1-2 years of previous or lab experience; extraction lab experience strongly preferred; and

Experience with supercritical or C02 extraction considered a strong asset.

TerrAscend is creating an enduring, world-class company capable of operating under the standards of a highly regulated business looking to shape the future of medical marijuana-based therapies in the markets we serve.</p><p><b>Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:</b></p><p>• Adhere to the daily production schedule to ensure attainment of efficiency goals.</p><p>• Verify that all applicable working areas, tools, and processing equipment are maintained and in good working order prior to the start of each shift or batch.</p><p>• Clean and sanitize glassware, transfer materials, storage vessels, tools and working surfaces.</p><p>• Ensure all extraction and processing are performed with attention to strict Ilera quality and safety standards, regulatory compliance and all other applicable legal and food safety requirements.</p><p>• Safely operate, clean and maintain extraction production equipment including supercritical fluid and solvent extraction systems, distillations systems, pumps, filters and evaporators according to our SOP's.</p><p>• Safely handle hazardous materials (Butane, Propane, Ethanol, etc.), and adhere to safe chemical handling and disposing procedures defined by SOP's and MSDS.</p><p>• Safely handle and dispose of cannabis waste according to processes defined in SOP's.</p><p>• Produce reliable and precise data for completion of all required batch, equipment, quality, inventory and state mandated seed to sale documentation.</p><p>• Accurately fill out all associated logs and tracking records.</p><p>• Contribute to continuous improvement of Ilera processes.</p><p>• Ensure the safety of themselves and other by maintaining a safe and orderly workspace.</p><p>• Other duties in post-processing production, packaging, labeling and R &amp; D as required.</p><p><b>Requirements</b></p><p>Qualifications and Education Requirements</p><p>• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Chemistry or Biochemistry or related fields.</p><p>• Positive attitude &amp; Self-motivated.</p><p>• Strong attention to detail with excellent problem-solving skills.</p><p>• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.</p><p>• Able to push, pull or lift a minimum of 50 lbs.</p><p>• Capable of sitting, standing, kneeling, bending, squatting and or walking for extended periods of time.</p><p>• ** Background Check Requirement ***</p><p>As a condition of employment, a complete background investigation will be conducted based on the rules of the specific State in which the employee is hired.
