Position Overview

The Cultivation Assistant Manager directs, manages and provides support for all activities and operations of the Cultivation Department, while abiding by policies, procedures and operational guidelines. Manage resources, review, enforce, and update standard operating procedures; policies and procedures, and operational guidelines. This is a position that requires previous knowledge and experience of indoor cannabis cultivation techniques.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Exercise significant authority and discretion when addressing items that concern the grow location, including:

• Supervise employees and delegate tasks accordingly

• Participate in developing and implementing rules, regulations, policies, and procedures to advance the Company's mission, vision, goals, and objectives

• Make recommendations regarding hiring, discipline, termination or advancement of employees

• Participate in the performance review process for their location's employees, in conjunction with the Grow Operations Manager

• Manage supervise and direct the activities of assigned staff and functions for their grow location, including:

• Making sure the grow is properly staffed and employees are assigned to specific tasks

• Assign work and monitor progress

• Guide, train and develop employees in the accomplishment of their duties and goals

• Coordinate daily duties with Director of Cultivation including: equipment acquisition, maintenance, training, schedules, personnel and quality assurance, as well as assuring compliance with local, state, and federal billing or licensing requirement

• Responsible for all daily operations of the grow, including: taking clones, potting stock plants, transfers, watering, mixing, flower groups, spraying, cleaning, maintenance, harvesting, schedules/timelines and overall crop management for eac

• Identifies problems, researches possible solutions, and recommends alternatives and implements solutions selected by the Director of Cultivation

• May be required to respond to emergency situations at any time. This may include scheduling issues and potentially covering a vacant shift. Employee will be on the alarm call list for the cultivation facility

• Highly skilled in all aspects of cannabis cultivation

• Expertise of cannabis life cycles, nutrient deficiencies and pest and disease identification

• Organizing, planning, assigning and coordinating activities and resources of professional and technical staff

• Ability to regularly exercise discretionary authority

• Ensure employees adhere to good hygiene, best practices and attention to detail

• Effective communication and listening skills as well as give or receive direction

• Effectively evaluate and analyze information accurately, and to express ideas clearly when providing oral and written reports or recommendations on administrative, financial and technical issues

• Reading, writing, computer and math skills. Ability to use standard office equipment, computers, software, data base management, spreadsheets and electronic mail

• Complete and assign tasks and projects in accordance with Cultivation policies, schedules and data collection

• Supervise and ensure proper documentation of plant inspections, nutrient application, equipment checks and cleaning lists

• Maintain daily inventory tracking system in accordance with State and Company policies

• Ensure state tracking and inventories are current and up to date

• Train and supervise employees on the safe handling, use, cleaning and calibration of all cultivation tools and instruments

• Ensure all department assigned objectives and deadlines are met

• Perform grasping, lifting, walking, standing, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions for long periods

• Abide by and enforce department safety programs

• Adhere to all company and Nevada state policies in an ethical manner

Required Education

• HS Diploma or equivalent;

• Previous management or leadership experience preferred

• Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered, including internal experience

Required Experience

• Previous cannabis manufacturing/cultivation experience: minimum 2 years

• Combination of experience and education considered

Additional Requirements

• Applicant must be at least 21 years of age

• Must be able to pass a criminal background check

• Must be eligible to register for a Nevada Marijuana Establishment Agent Card

• Physical Demands: Arduous labor including, lifting, carrying and balancing of 125lbs, walking and standing for extended periods of time, as well as stooping, bending over and/or crouching

Preferred Experience

• Experience and knowledge of cultivation tools and methods used for Cannabis

• Previous agriculture, warehouse, greenhouse, manufacturing, laborer experience

• Mechanized environmental controls and nutrient recipe mixing experience

• Skills that relate to general mechanics, carpentry, plumbing and troubleshooting of equipment used in cultivation operations
