The Opportunity:

Reporting to the VP of Supply Chain and under the guidance of the Supply Chain Coordinator, the Logistics Technician II is responsible for leading the overall accuracy and accountability of the logistics processes. This will include leading all inbound, outbound and transfer activities within the department, owning the entry and management of data into the ERP system, resolving issues and discrepancies as they arise, preparing and submitting data and reports, coordinating and collaborating with other work units or departments, and assisting with the oversight of team members.

Schedule:

• Dayshift: Monday to Friday 6:30 – 3:00pm

As a Logistics Technician II you will:

• Working in collaboration with other team members and departments to oversee the inbound, outbound and transfer of biomass and raw materials, with a focus on ensuring accuracy and providing sign off

• Input and maintain materials in the Microsoft Dynamics ERP System

• Communication with Quality Assurance (QA) team for materials that need sampling

• Leading pallet builds, pack outs, tracking and sign off for outbound cannabis shipments

• Assist with product movement responsibilities for material pulling, transfers and staging

• Picking orders from stock and palletizing for ship out as per distribution center specifications

• Thorough understanding of transportation and courier requirements for shipping accessories and numerous other items domestically and internationally

• Preparing all, weigh bills, packing slips, QA packages and other shipping documentation as required

• Packaging goods for transportation ensuring they are safely and securely packaged and labeled to arrive at our customer's location in the best condition possible

• Organizing shipments via couriers (Purolator, Fedex, etc.)

• Loading and unloading of goods from trucks and containers via forklift/pallet jack

• Inspecting and verifying incoming goods against packing slips or related documents and forward information on discrepancies to procurement team

• Unpacking, documenting, labeling, locating and routing goods to appropriate area

• Restocking Min/Max levels for productions items in each production facility Maintaining a clean and efficient warehouse

• Maintaining the quarantine area for non-conforming goods and ensuring follow up for clearance is complete

• Ensure an uninterrupted supply of consumables and/or services are available to perform all quality functions

• Completes preventative maintenance documentation and procedures including daily forklift inspections, 5-ton truck and van inspections

• Back up for Supply Chain Coordinator in maintaining the stock management system to ensure consumables are stored under correct environmental conditions and are used prior to expiration dates

• Follow all Health & Safety requirements and report any instances of unsafe working conditions

• Back up support for all Logistics Technician I responsibilities as needed

• Assists in coordination of tasks and assignments for Technician I positions

• Expected to act as a mentor and provide assistance, guidance and support to other permanent and temporary team members in collaboration Supply Chain Coordinator as needed

• Other duties as assigned

As a Logistics Technician II you bring:

• High school diploma or equivalent

• 1-2 years of relevant experience in shipping/receiving, logistics or warehousing

• Cannabis industry experience considered an asset

• Valid Forklift certification or ability to obtain upon hire

• Experience with ERP systems preferred (Microsoft Dynamics an asset)

• Good understanding and basic proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)

• Ability to lift and maneuver up to 50 lbs and perform repetitive physical work

• Strong attention to detail, precision, and accuracy

• Highly organized with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines

• Clear and definitive communications skills

• Safety conscious

• Proven ability to responsibly drive over-sized vehicles

• Must have flexibility to work modified hours on occasion

• Ability to complete a satisfactory criminal record check

Manage a team of chefs to carry out day-to-day tasks including prepping, cleaning, cooking, and operating basic production machinery.
