The Opportunity:
Reporting to the Inventory Control Manager, the Inventory Control Technician is responsible for keeping inventory operations smooth and efficient in the dedicated controlled material rooms. The individual will also be responsible for tracking inventory movements, restocking materials, physically moving materials, and assisting the Inventory Control Coordinators with day-to-day tasks.

Schedule:

  • Night Shift 4:00pm – 2:30am (Monday – Thursday)

As an Inventory Control Technician you will:

  • Performs Cycle Counts on controlled and uncontrolled materials, aids in the investigation and reconciliation processes.
  • Assists shipping and receiving by weighing/counting incoming inventory, acquiring accurate incoming inventory records, ensuring appropriate movement/storage within the facility.
  • Staging bill of materials for production to ensure accurate lots and amounts are being processed according to the production schedule.
  • Reviews and compares information on batch records to physical inventory to ensure accuracy of weights/amounts and label information.
  • Tracks inventory movements within the Health Canada licensed storage areas for controlled products.
  • Leveraging WMS scan guns to track movements of controlled and uncontrolled materials throughout the respective facilities.
  • Assist in monthly inventory counts and reconciliation against the system generated inventory numbers.
  • Aid the Inventory Coordinators with the destruction of controlled and uncontrolled materials.
  • Accountable for the cleanliness of the licensed storage areas through daily, weekly, and monthly cleans as per the internal standard operating procedures.
  • Responsible for the organization and bin location management for all inventory storage locations.
  • Effectively completes controlled documents as it pertains to Inventory Control, Quality Assurance and Production.
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Accountable for all goods getting entered correctly into the inventory management system upon receiptResponsible for maintaining accurate items in the inventory systemResponsible for requesting new items upon new item launches or item substitutions, including submitting a BOM change with consulting with manufacturingMonitor and track finished goods shipped from the warehouseAccountable for reconciliation of inventory variances of finished goods/raw materials/ancillary itemsReview/reconcile daily production confirmationsReview daily product disposition reportsReview/audit product movement within facilities, i.e. check out/in procedures, breakage write-off process, and product recover/destruction processAccountable for the efficient flow of inventory with a focus on quality, cost control and metricsStrategize and support processes that promote efficiencies and maintain a safe, clean and organized work environmentReview day supply reports for out of stock risks and communicate to centralized and local planning as appropriateReview inbound material orders/delivery schedule to ensure raw material supply meets production schedule demandsReview interim storage types, age of stock reports, obsolete materials, run inventory cycle count reports, support year end physical inventory count, warehouse product traceabilityReview system transaction process to ensure data is accurately postedTrain system end users as needed in system processes as neededCreate and maintain documentations for inventory control processProvide support to the Accounting Dept. to complete all required month-end activitiesGenerate daily / weekly / monthly reports from system to report past due inbound and outbound deliveries and report accurate on-hand inventory numbers with accurate costingQUALIFICATIONS *3+ Years of experience in a manufacturing plant or warehouse environmentPrior experience with ERP systemsExperience working with Warehouse Management Systems and Ingredient Management SystemsStrong attention to detail with an eye on process optimizationAbility to work in a fast-paced environment, to manage high stress situations, and to be flexible and adaptable when a situation requires itMust be able to manage multiple projects, set priorities, and meet deadlinesExcellent communication skills and leadership both verbally and through written mediaMust be able to handle constructive criticism and guidance and offer the same to others in the departmentAbility to articulate job goals in a manner they're completed effectively the first time Knowledge of inventory management principles related to FIFO, LIFO, etc.,Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Outlook; and databasesAt least 21 years of age and authorized to work in the USProper employment documentation; reliable transportation and valid driver's licenseEnvironmental Requirements and Exposure, depending on work location:Exposure to fertilizer, dusts, odors, high heat, low temperature, high and low humidity, high noise levels, vibrations, water, dry salts, allergens, pollen, dust, plant pathogens, other volatile organic compounds, and other environmental variables.
