About This Role

Every position at Common Citizen from seed to sale, is contributing to our mission to serve our fellow citizens of Michigan with the highest quality, safest cannabis product through our highly individualized and education-oriented provisioning centers. The inventory Control Lead is responsible for managing all inventory related processes at Common Citizen Chapters. They will establish accurate inventory counts and reporting, building and improving inventory processes, and ensuring a constant availability and supply of inventory to the sales floor. The Inventory Control Lead is the Subject Matter Expert for all inventory and stock related inquires and applies strong attention to detail in the organization and record keeping of the stock room and retail floors. They will work alongside the Chapter Captain to ensure Chapters are properly stocked and adhere to compliance regulations.

Responsibilities

Outlined below is what we see you doing at this point in time. We are a fast-growing company looking for people that are excited to grow along with us. Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Ensure all product information for new strains and products, including creating bud cards are checked daily for accuracy.
  • Manage the physical inventory storage in compliance with MRA storage requirements.
  • Identify slow / nonmoving items and communicate to Chapter Captain.
  • Maintain active knowledge of incoming inventory and existing inventory levels on hand for CC Chapter and communicate all needs to chapter captain.
  • Monitor all items shelf-life to ensure Chapter Captains are creating deals for near-expiration product and to mitigate excessive wasting out of expired products.
  • Provide and assist chapter captain with hands-on training of inventory tracking system and inventory procedures for new and current employees.
  • Ensure daily cycle counts are being completed and results sent into compliance manager and chapter captain.
  • Must resolve all count issues within 24 hours of taking cycle count with the guidance of compliance manager and chapter captain. Ensure all reconciliation is regularly completed including matching physical inventory to METRC inventory & Flowhub.
  • Ensure proper documentation is logged (invoices, monthly inventory reports from Metrc, monthly package adjustment reports from Metrc)
  • Ensure pricing is correct in operating system.
  • All price chances are done the day they are received, and product reflects new price.
  • Ensure all invoices are sent into RetailCCpayables.com on the day the merchandise is received.
  • Ensure all new receipts are processed and moved to floor within 24hrs of receiving.
  • Daily stock and maintain floor with cannabis products. Follow flower guidelines when product is low in stock.
  • Ensure all waste procedures are followed to the MRA requirements.
  • Ensure all floor product is audited weekly for compliance, source tags / metrc tags are correct.
  • All floor backstock is maintained / filled in. ensure floor is neat and organized.
  • Inventory room / office and vault are always kept neat and organized.
  • Ensure scales are calibrated daily and maintained. Must train and follow scale SOP.
  • Must champion all inventory SOP’s. Work closely with chapter captain on training new/ existing CA’s on inventory SOP’s.

The Experience You Bring and the Skills we Need:

  • High School Diploma
  • 1-2 years of industry experience preferred.
  • 1-2 years of inventory or related experience
  • Experience with statewide monitoring software (METRC)
  • Must be able to run reports, cross-reference data, delegate tasks and hit strict deadlines.
  • Must have a comprehensive understanding of CCR (Certified Child Resistant) packaging and labeling requirements provided by LARA and the State in order to remain compliant as a Provisioning Center at all times.
  • Must be proficient in active/inactive packages, package consolidation, sales, manifest creation, delivery operations, and maintaining inventory labels.
  • Must have a thorough understanding of all MRA/ State of Michigan Cannabis regulations for both Medical Provisioning Centers as well as Adult-Use Retailers
  • Strong math skills
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office suite- especially MS Excel and Word
  • Detail-oriented
  • Able to work well both alone and with others.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
