Role Purpose/ Summary:

As the Territory Sales Manager, you will lead the sales and promotions in your territory to rapidly grow revenue and sales of Decibel branded products (Qwest Family and General Admission) with cannabis retailers

About us:

Decibel is uncompromising in the process and craftsmanship needed to deliver the highest quality cannabis products and retail experiences. Decibel has three production houses operating or under development along with its wholly owned retail business, Prairie Records. The Qwest Estate in Creston, BC is a licensed and operating 26,000 square foot cultivation space which produces the widely championed, rare cultivar-focused brands Qwest and Qwest Reserve, which are sold in six provinces across Canada. Thunderchild Cultivation, an 80,000 square foot indoor cultivation facility in Battleford, SK is scheduled to be completed and licensed in 2020. The Plant, Decibel’s extraction facility, in Calgary, AB has 15,000 square feet of Health Canada licensed extraction and product development space. Key responsibilities:

• Grow the retailer base and overall sales volume in your territory by generating new leads and increasing existing retailer sales. Build a prospect list through research and networking.

• Build and manage relationships and develop strong rapport with customer retail buyers, management and the Decibel team.

• Promote product placement and work with retailers to secure high visibility placement for products and displays.

• Follow up on leads provided by company, generated through trade shows, digital marketing etc.

• Identify prospects’ specific wants and needs to develop solutions that work for their unique situation.

• Present solutions and financials to customers and potential customers, and negotiate win-win outcomes.

• Meet or exceed sales goals.

• Follow up to ensure positive outcomes, expand breadth of offerings, and build solid, foundational customer base

• Mine sales data to identify incremental opportunities and build category expertise for retail partners

• Complete all other tasks related to the position as required

Qualifications:

• Experience with Cannabis industry is required

• 3+ years of relevant professional sales experience

• Diploma or bachelor’s degree in business or marketing preferred but not required

• Exceptional organizational and analytical skills; able to quickly identify and prioritize key opportunities.

• Demonstrated ability to successfully prospect, negotiate and close new business;

Critical to success of the role is the ability to build relationships to engage and educate staff and consumers, while being an ambassador for the company and brand.</p><p><b>Basic Functions:</b></p><p>Develop strong, long-term relationships with Northern Alberta cannabis retail store personnel</p><p>Achieve sales, distribution and market share objectives within assigned Alberta accounts</p><p>Organize and lead, 1-on-1 and cluster training educational seminars with retail partners</p><p>Act as brand ambassador to store staff and consumers to increase HEXO and Truss Beverages brand awareness</p><p>Utilize CRM software to keep accurate records for contact management and use best practices for route planning, call frequency and tracking performance against objectives</p><p>Use CRM and other available data to analyze own, competitor and market results and employ fact-based selling techniques with retail accounts</p><p>Leverage marketing presentations and tools, and use effective selling techniques to introduce products, features and benefits and educate store staff</p><p>Execute and activate pre-arranged merchandising and/or promotional programs for retail cannabis stores</p><p>Participate in provincial trade shows</p><p>Manage retail account expectations regarding inventory</p><p>Communicate inventory requirements or any watch-outs to the Regional Manager</p><p>Role would be base out of Northern Alberta</p><p>Responsible to the Regional Manager for activities and results in the territory</p><p><b>Job Functions:</b></p><p>Manage relationships with Northern Alberta cannabis retail accounts</p><p>Achieve sales, distribution and market share targets</p><p>Increase brand awareness and visibility</p><p>Train and educate the retail staff personnel</p><p>Keep accurate records on the account, the decision makers and key relationships</p><p>Set up and manage cluster-training sessions with retail accounts</p><p>Make field calls and tracking activities in each account</p><p>Prepare and submit weekly reporting to management summarizing results against objectives</p><p>Gather, analyze and validate data</p><p>Track and report on inventory (own and competitive)</p><p>Review competitive education, merchandising, promotional activity and sales</p><p>Report on retailers as applicable</p><p>Monitor and track performance to objectives</p><p>Analyze sales activities, market conditions and competitive pricing</p><p>Review available competitive data and utilize to company advantage</p><p>Make recommendations and update Regional Manager on local activity in assigned accounts</p><p>Make decisions and formulate sales strategies to improve company position in retail accounts</p><p>Manage promotional expenses for the territory</p><p>Work with the Regional Manager to ensure best practices are utilized and all engagement activities are within company and provincial guidelines</p><p><b>Key Results:</b></p><p>A Territory Manager that can maximize our sales and distribution, and train and educate the Northern Alberta cannabis retail staff in order to achieve our corporate objectives, while working effectively within corporate guidelines and as an effective member of the provincial sales team.</p><p>Strong collaboration among sales team which will lead to effective knowledge sharing and an optimal consensus on how best to direct our promotional and merchandising resources.</p><p>Execute with excellence.
