The Opportunity
Want to work at one of the first legal cannabis shops in the country? Who wouldn’t? We’re looking for the best of the best to join our retail teams at our up-and-coming shops across the country. Want a job where you can make money AND history? Who knows, maybe you’ll end up in a high school textbook someday. Oh yeah, and you won’t have to fold (just kidding you totally have to fold). Here’s the type of person we’re looking for:

The Associate Shop Manager’s primary function is to manage all aspects of the shop, including all personnel, product, merchandising functions, business processes and results for the shop, along with the ability to manage the Shop as the Manager on duty in the absence of the Shop Manager. The Associate Shop Manager leads by example in providing exceptional customer service and demonstrating brand selling skills in order to maximize sales and optimize the customer experience in the shop.
Responsibilities
  • Delivers a high level of communication with staff on a daily basis, ensuring flow of information in shop
  • Demonstrates exceptional customer service skills with both internal and external partners
  • Effectively manages customer’s complaints in a timely and effective manner
  • Understands product needs and educates team on how to evaluate report information
  • Ensures daily management of sales, payroll, controllable expenses, goals and company initiatives
  • Aligns team with activities that will ensure that business goals are met
  • Actively trains, coaches and provides feedback to management team and associates
  • Assists Shop Manager with on-going learning and development plans for management team
  • Consistently Networks, recruits and hires associates with bench strength
  • Align all Shop activities to ensure all business goals are met
  • Other duties as assigned
Experience
  • Experience as an Associate Shop Manager, an asset
  • High school diploma post-secondary education in business or related discipline, an asset
  • 3-5 years’ experience as an acting member of management, retail preferred
  • Self-driven, results-oriented with a clear business focus
  • Creates energy, excitement and recognition around team and individual accomplishment and successes

This is a regular part-time position based out of Humboldt, SK

The ASM is primarily responsible for working collaboratively with the SM and company management and to manage, maintain and supervise day-to-day retail operations activities at the retail store location.</p><p><b>Key Duties &amp; Responsibilities</b></p><p><b>Sales Associate Support:</b></p><ul><li>Motivate and inspire team members to be positive, friendly, knowledgeable, and hardworking</li><li>Support SM and team members and provide positive and constructive feedback so that they grow professionally</li><li>Support SM and all team members on work procedures and policies so that everyone understands what's required to do a great job</li><li>Maintain written SOPs as changes to policy and/or regulations occur and ensure compliance among team</li><li>Be accessible and extremely responsive to all team member's questions, suggestions, and concerns and help resolve any team member conflicts</li><li>Strong ability to lead by example and work with staff to deal with any circumstances that may arise in a high-volume retail store.</li></ul><p><b>Sales and Customer Service:</b></p><ul><li>Utilize customer and team member feedback to readily implement changes to improve the customer experience</li><li>Track all employee and store sales daily to ensure optimal performance</li></ul><p><b>Daily Store Operations:</b></p><ul><li>Maintain store compliance with all local, state and federal regulations, Organize and communicate all required reporting, paperwork, and state tracking system recording</li><li>Assist Provincial and Law Enforcement with inventory, sales, and compliance audits is needed.</li><li>Perform all daily opening and closing procedures</li><li>Ensure that the sales floor is adequately stocked at all times</li><li>Coordinate with management and senior leadership to perform daily/monthly/yearly inventory audits and reconciliations</li><li>Ensure all expired/damaged/returned product is logged and disposed of according to regulations</li><li>Assist in receiving and ensuring that all wholesale deliveries are compliant and accurate compared to invoices, etc.</li><li>Provide daily correspondence via email and manager’s log, with the team members as needed</li><li>Comply with all HR policies, including confidentiality and non-disclosures</li><li>Maintain a clean and organized work environment.</li></ul><p><b>Qualifications and Requirements of an ASM:</b></p><ul><li>Reporting and Information Management: must have proficiency in Microsoft Office and</li><li>4+ years of management experience in retail.</li><li>Ability to obtain CannSell prior to start date</li><li>Sound knowledge of Cannabis plants and different strains of Cannabis</li><li>Knowledge of standards of Cannabis Retail stores set by AGCO.</li><li>Achievement-oriented and hard working</li><li>Must successfully pass an extensive background check.</li><li>Organized, flexible, and empathetic</li><li>Detail-oriented and proactive</li><li>Excellent leadership and management skills</li><li>Strong time management and prioritization skills</li><li>Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, high-volume environment</li><li>Strong communicator who can present ideas clearly</li><li>Strong problem solving and decision-making skills</li><li>Entrepreneurial, collaborative, an extremely positive attitude</li><li>Knowledgeable about the cannabis industry and its policies and laws</li><li>Ability to work nights, holidays and weekends.</li></ul></div></div><p></p></div>","company":{"companyType":"Public/Established","name":"Canna Cabana","logoUrl":"/logos/canna-cabana-d415e8789842144474feaeb642028290.jpeg"},"location":{"country":"Canada","address":"Ancaster, ON","city":"Ancaster","stateProvince":"ON"},"frontendLink":"/job-posting/canna-cabana/assistant-store-manager/7f3a26f3ba31dcbc45765b199e7aa9cf","title":"Assistant Store Manager","category":"Manufacturing","hash":"7f3a26f3ba31dcbc45765b199e7aa9cf","postingUrl":"https://ca.indeed.com/job/assistant-store-manager-4e5686fca2071375"}]
