The Staff Accountant must have a full understanding of cost accounting, build assembly, be able read and understand PL (income statements, etc.), cash flow, balance sheets, know inventory and know how to reconcile inventory.

  • Implementing and/or maintaining generally accepted accounting systems
  • Handling AP - making payments to multiple entities
  • Handling AR - weekly invoicing and correspondence with customers
  • Specialized accounting and bookkeeping
  • Month end close processes
  • Journal entries, amortization, depreciation, cash receipts, coding around invoices
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting is required
  • 2+ years of Accounting experience, including AR and AP
  • Advanced knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Working knowledge of government regulatory and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent skills in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Strong ability to plan and organize, including short and long-term planning, prioritizing to optimize time usage.
  • Flexibility, initiative, sense of urgency and professionalism in handling confidential information.
  • Organizational, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Team player with the ability to relate to all levels, ability to engage in collaborative problem solving.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Compensation: $35-40 hourly

The agency is comprised of three major operational programs; the Distilled Spirits Program, the Marijuana Program, and the Public Safety Program. Revenue generated from these programs helps support state and local government programs.</p><p></p><p><b>What will you do?</b></p><p>The primary purpose of this position is to ensure that yearly revenues totaling more than $190 million which are generated from liquor sales, license fees, and other miscellaneous income are properly accounted for and posted to the appropriate journals and registers. Ideal candidate must be a self-starter who is highly organized with great attention to detail. This position will report to the General Manager while working with a motivated management team.</p><p><b>Essential Duties and Responsibilities: </b></p><ul><li>Perform full cycle accounting - Accrual accounting, AR, AP, Inventory</li></ul><ul><li>Review and coding of the invoices</li></ul><ul><li>Manage accounts receivable aging and DSO reports</li></ul><ul><li>Bank reconciliations</li></ul><ul><li>Prepare schedules and packages for monthly, quarterly, and annual internal and external financial reporting and compliance purposes</li></ul><ul><li>Inventory tracking</li></ul><ul><li>Tracking financial by business unit in a vertically-integrated Cannabis business: Cultivation, MIP, Dispensary.
