Responsibilities:

About the Role:

As the Manager, Product Life Cycle Engineering you will lead the engineering effort for the existing products portfolio at CCA. In this role, you will be guiding and managing the growth, maturity/stability, and decline of existing CCA products through all the stages of the life cycle. Along with your partners in the product and manufacturing teams, you will drive ongoing quality and process improvements to ensure highest possible market acceptance of the products in an ever-evolving market landscape.

What You'll Do:

  • Lead the engineering aspect of product life cycle requirements in partnership with the product, manufacturing, and quality organizations
  • Create detailed product specs and associated process improvements that will yield sustainable results in manufacturing
  • Create experiments and manage all associated data to yield product and process insight
  • Lead a small team of engineers to support the implementation of the PLC engineering work
  • Drive ongoing quality improvements, and customer experience in all aspects of products over time, while managing BOM cost
  • Share engineering / product best practices and knowledge across the enterprise
  • Ensure information systems and data is readily available through reporting and enterprise system integration
  • Document all changes through quality-approved SOPs, working instructions, and change-management procedures
  • Track and catalog chemical and physical properties of BOM materials
  • Keep record of past, present, and future concepts and products through agile backlogs and processes
  • Record changes in customer demands, regulations, improvements, and cost
Qualifications:

What You'll Need to Have:

  • A minimum of a BSc in chemical engineering is required.
  • Strong knowledge of cannabis products
  • Knowledge of product life cycle management best practices
  • Experience with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
  • Understanding of NPD and NPI process and related quality systems
  • Proven leadership skills
  • Highly developed communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills
  • Ability to make important decisions under pressure
  • Problem-solving skills
  • Ability to delegate effectively
  • Time management skills
  • A friendly and approachable nature
  • Willingness to work as part of a team
  • Expert user of Google’s G Suite and/or Microsoft Office, in particular Google Sheets / MS Excel; , ASANA a plus
  • Working knowledge of current California cannabis regulations
  • Ability to work well remotely and on-site
  • Ability to be a unifying, “super-team-player”
  • Strong organizational and follow-up skills
  • Flexible in work schedule as needed
  • Must be 21 years of age (or older) at the time of hire
  • Proficiency in the English language, verbal and written format
