Insa is a rapidly expanding company that serves both medical patients and recreational patrons. We have an exciting opportunity for a Talent Acquisition Manager to join our high-performance team and lead the business’s national recruiting efforts to support Insa’s growth while maintaining its culture and quality standards.
Located in Chicopee, MA and reporting to the Director of HR, this hands-on position will implement strategic talent acquisition tactics and lead the recruiting function, strategies, and processes to find opportunities for improvement. Critical to achieving excellent results is the ability of the Talent Acquisition Manager to build strong relationships and deliver results in a rapidly and constantly evolving environment. The person will oversee full cycle recruitment to attract and retain top, diverse talent for Insa.
Responsibilities & Duties

  • Partner with hiring managers to determine staffing needs, create job descriptions for positions in cultivation, manufacturing and processing and dispensaries
  • Post open positions and source passive candidates through multiple avenues
  • Drive use of Applicant Tracking system (ATS) for efficient hiring and communication with candidates and managers
  • Perform in-person and phone interviews with candidates
  • Develop candidate pools for a variety of positions including retail, agriculture, CPG, and manufacturing in food industry
  • Develop diverse candidate pools through outreach and use of DEI avenues
  • Make recommendations and coordinating interviews with the hiring managers
  • Following up on the interview process status
  • Communicate employer information and benefits during screening process
  • Perform reference and background checks
  • Stay current on the company’s organization structure, personnel policy, and federal and state laws regarding employment practices
  • Serve as a liaison with area employment agencies, colleges, and industry associations
  • Complete timely reports on employment activity
  • Post jobs on career sites, hold hiring events for larger recruiting needs
  • Drive a culture of constant improvement, identifying, and implementing projects in order to increase business-wide recruiting effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Stay on top of hiring trends in markets where we are located, in anticipation of the business’s response to labor market changes, for example, shortages and surpluses of available labor.
  • Develop strategies and processes that utilize both traditional and modern/current/innovative sources in order to cover all possible talent pools

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and 7-10 years of related experience in recruiting
  • Experience providing talent acquisition for high growth companies
  • Must have experience recruiting in retail, manufacturing, both hourly and salaried positions
  • General knowledge of employment laws and practices
  • Articulate, effective communicator, inspires and energizes
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational and coaching skills
  • Ability to prioritize, organize and operate in a fast-moving, entrepreneurial environment

This position will provide consultation and guidance to the store educators and management, offering a local point of contact for HR matters and services.</p><p><b>Core Responsibilities and Duties</b></p><ul><li>Support Tokyo Smoke leaders and store owners on all HR functional areas including: workforce planning, recruitment, termination, employee relations, organizational effectiveness, talent management, training and development and performance management</li><li>Acts as a single point of contact, providing generalist expertise for company business leaders, Tokyo Smoke store managers and staff</li><li>Align Tokyo Smoke practices with Employment Standards and employee relations strategies in the best interest of the company</li><li>Supports HSE (Health, Safety, Environment) for all Tokyo Smoke stores.</li><li>Support with training and development strategies and initiatives for all Tokyo Smoke stores.</li><li>Assists the Tokyo Smoke leadership teams in interpreting, assisting and advising employees and managers regarding employment policy and procedures</li><li>Proactively partner with Managers on employee relations issues in concert with HR Manager to administer proactive communication/ programs etc. to ensure compliance with employment and labour relations legislation</li><li>Conduct effective, thorough and objective conversations, meetings, interviews, and investigations related to violations of company policy, employment laws and employee complaints</li><li>Provides consistent HR support on employee relations and performance management issues, including supporting Store Managers through progressive discipline processes</li><li>Utilize independent judgement and professional expertise in recommending resolution for approval</li><li>Provide HR support to identify, train and develop employees for optimal levels of customer Experience</li><li>Works closely with HR coordinator during the onboarding of new Tokyo Smoke Locations for all HR elements including recruitment, onboarding, training, payroll setup, policy implementation, etc.</li><li>Collaborates with Edmonton HR team to execute HR processes and associated activities, as required</li><li>Provides onboarding execution for new hires, transfers and promotions including background checks, paperwork, and policy acknowledgement</li><li>Responsible for maintaining all related HR metrics (recruitment, termination, leave of absence, vacation)</li><li>Support all Diversity initiatives within Tokyo Smoke</li><li>Responsible for leading and managing Tokyo Smoke employee engagement initiatives</li></ul><p><b>Education, Experience and Skills:</b></p><ul><li>Post-secondary Diploma or Degree in a related field is preferred.</li></ul><ul><li>Criminal Background Check required</li><li>Minimum 3-5 years of progressive HR Generalist experience, preferably in a retail</li><li>Proven ability to act as the single point of contact for Human Resources</li><li>Experience with part-time and full-time employees in a retail or comparable environment</li><li>Works independently yet is a strong HR team player</li><li>Experience within a dynamic environment: building, implementing and strategizing HR processes and procedures</li><li>Solid understanding of applicable employment and human rights legislation (e.g. Employment Standards Act, Labour Relations Act, Occupational Health &amp;
