Reporting to the local manufacturing and production facility's Controller, the Corporate Accountant will help lead the monthly corporate close activities, along with preparation and execution of intercompany transactions, inventory reconciliations and inventory costing. Responsibilities also include supporting the financial statement audit/review, SOX internal control compliance, consolidated cash forecasting, and additional ad-hoc duties as required. Role and Responsibilities:</b></p><p>• Assist in leading the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process for the accounting team. Currently we are seeking a Senior Accountant , reporting into our Belleville Ontario operation.</p><p>If working in a new and growing industry excites you as much as it does us, then you might be who we are looking for!</p><p>Role Summary</p><p>The Senior Accountant ensures the integrity of accounting information through recording, verification, and consolidation of transactions, while overseeing assigned accounting and financial activities, including establishing quality control over financial transactions.</p><p>In addition to maintaining the general ledger chart of accounts, this role also plays a key role in the Order to Cash and Pay to Procure cycles, is responsible for preparing month-end close entries/processes, account reconciliations, financial reports, and ensuring accuracy and effectiveness in all accounting duties.</p><p>Role Details and Responsibilities</p><p>· Post and reconcile all outgoing customer deliveries, validating PODs, generating customer invoices, and ensuring Invoice documents are provided to customers in a timely manner</p><p>· Responsible for AR activities, including posting and reconciling all incoming payments from customers, generating and providing statement of accounts and following up with past due customer accounts</p><p>· Accounts payable invoice processing, validating the accuracy of the invoice to the PO and Goods Receipt. Working with purchasers or vendors to resolving any discrepancies as required</p><p>· Provide support to purchasers to help ensure PO’s are being allocated to the correct GL accounts. Able to spot potential incorrect allocations, identify corrective actions and work with purchaser to correct going forward</p><p>· Setting up payments to vendors through weekly pay runs, ensuring vendors are paid in a timely manner</p><p>· Prepares bank and other balance sheet GL account reconciliations including aging of all outstanding items and ensuring all reconciliations are completed within policy timelines</p><p>· Prepares and records asset, liability, revenue, and expense entries by compiling and analyzing account information and external supporting documents</p><p>· Supports the month-end and year-end close activities and assists with the year-end audit with external auditors</p><p>· Support the finance team to ensure prepaids, accrued liabilities and other Balance Sheet accounts are timely and accurately reconciled</p><p>· Assists with initial internal control and process evaluations and provides recommendations to Management on how to increase efficiency while reducing/mitigate potential control risks</p><p>· Support with development and implementation of accounting work instructions by documenting and analyzing current procedures and recommending changes/improvements when identified</p><p>· Prepare HST returns, ensuring that it reconciles to the general ledger.
