Auxly Cannabis Inc. is currently looking for a Senior Accountant to join our team in support of a key operating facility. Reporting to the Group Controller, the ideal candidate aspires to work in the fast paced and growing cannabis industry. The successful candidate will initially be responsible for completing the month-end close processes, preparation and review of supporting schedule and reconciliations, monitoring of key controls, and will participate in process improvement and system enhancements as related to the company’s ERP system.

The successful incumbent will be results-oriented, forward-thinking, and be able to successfully manage competing priorities.

Accounting and Reporting 50%

• Responsible for the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting activities, and the various statutory statements, including detailed review of working papers prepared by Junior Financial Analysts on the team.

• Prepare and/or review documents supporting internal and external audits, working with external auditors during interim review and year end audit processes.

• Analysis of accounting transactions in accordance with IFRS.

• Provide training and support to the Finance team.

Cash flow Analysis 25%

• Provide support, guidance, and oversight on all aspects of the accounts receivable and payable function by identifying opportunities to motivate, develop and train staff.

• Ensure that all accounting transactions are executed and recorded with appropriate approval in compliance with accounting policies and regulatory requirements.

• Monitor all cash related payments and provide necessary information for cash flow forecasting.

• Advise staff regarding the handling of non-routine reporting transactions.

Internal Controls and System Implementation 25%

• Lead the implementation of docAlpha, a document capture and data extraction software to increase the efficiency of accounts payable processing

• Assist in developing and maintaining internal control, policies and procedures for accounting processes, cash management, including governance controls over manufacturing sites.

• Collaborate cross-functionally with Technology and Operations departments on the design and testing of ERP modules

• Solid understanding of IFRS.

• Work experience in cannabis industry or CPG company is an asset

• Post-secondary education in relevant field (i.e. Accounting, Finance)

• Canadian CPA designation is required

• Tech savvy, adaptive to new technologies and tools

• Well-organized with excellent attention to detail

• Solid track record of meeting tight working deadlines, and prioritizing workload are essential
