The LDB is one of two branches of government responsible for the cannabis and liquor industry of B.C. We operate the wholesale distribution of beverage alcohol and non-medical cannabis within the province, as well as the household retail brands of BC Liquor Stores and BC Cannabis Stores.

We employ nearly 5,000 people in over 200 communities and have hundreds of career opportunities spanning our entire wholesale, retail and corporate operations - from supply chain logistics, to high-tech solutions, and everything in between. Corporate Operations at the BCLDB includes our Corporate Loss Prevention and Real Estate departments. Real Estate manages all activities related to the leasing, construction, renovation, and facilities management of all new and existing LDB facilities, included head office, distribution centres, and all BC Liquor and BC Cannabis retail locations. The Corporate Loss Prevention department ensures the security of all BCLDB assets through physical security management as well as an investigative team.

Under the direction of the Trades Supervisor, Technical Security provides the Liquor Distribution Branch (LDB) with technical security support, including the Head Office complex, two distribution centres (Kamloops and Vancouver) and BC Liquor and Cannabis Stores throughout the province.

A criminal record check is required. Ability to travel overnight within the Province of British Columbia. There may be a requirement to work outside of core hours and on weekends. The work involves being exposed to dusty conditions 75% of the time, and the lifting of material and equipment, 10-20% of the time. May be required to lift up to 80 pounds. There will be a requirement to work on ladders at various heights to perform installations. A valid BC driver's license is required.

Education and Experience:

A minimum of five (5) years of recent, related trade experience*

• Recent, related trade experience must be within the last 10 years in the following:

Technical security field combined with successful completion of the BC Certificate of Qualification in the Trade of Security Alarm Installer. Completion of recent electrical code course pertains to the 2018 Canadian electrical code. Experience in networking and system integration. Proven and recent experience in leading large complex security site installations with multiple security, CCTV and access control systems

Preference may be given to candidates with the following:

Experience with Electrical Trade Journeyman with Certificate of qualification for electrical work minimum required. Experience in working with digital CCTV systems, camera and recording equipment., with a minimum of 5 years of experience as the project lead. Experience working with electronics and/or having an electrical trade designation. Experience working with Computer Systems. FSR certification.
