Reporting to the Sr. Director Security & IT, the Site Security Officer will work with the security team to ensure a safe and secure worksite for our staff. This person will also work with our facilities team to ensure that we have consistent coverage when and where necessary in order to provide support to our production team.

Some of your responsibilities may look like this,

  • Ensure the protection of people, assets and property
  • Monitor access of entryways and exit points using equipment at your disposal
  • Screen visitors and staff for Covid-19 or highlighted concerns as identified by Municipal, Provincial, and Federal Government bodies
  • Conduct preventive surveillance rounds according to established procedures
  • Enforce the regulations in effect at location
  • Record daily occurrence and incident reports
  • During operating hours sign in/out visitors and contractors to/from the site
  • Coordinate deliveries
  • Monitor video monitoring system
  • During business hours act as first contact for intrusion and video monitoring companies
  • Complete visitor and screening logs for management
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

  • Punctual, responsible, and bondable
  • 3+ years of relevant experience as a security guard, security officer, or in a related area
  • Possess a valid provincial security guard license (preferred)
  • Strong customer service skills in communication, interpersonal, and documentation skills with a Functional understanding of Windows - Microsoft based applications (Office365 – Word, Excel etc)
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure, to think quickly on your feet, and maintain a professional manner in stressful situations
  • Flexibility and availability to work various hours
  • Be able to stand/walk for extended periods of time in variable temperatures & climate
  • Possess excellent time management and organizing skills and be comfortable working in a fast paced, multi-tasking environment
  • Must have a valid driver's license and a reliable insured vehicle
  • Ability to comfortably lift up to 50 lbs
