Assistant Security Manager

Our Company is a prominent and well-established cannabis brand in Las Vegas, Nevada. We are seeking an exceptional individual to co-lead our Security Team at our Las Vegas and North Las Vegas locations. We have an opening for a professional Assistant Security Manager to co-lead our security team, protect our premises, assets, and personnel.

To apply - we prefer that you have a valid NV Dispensary Agent card and a Metro Police Dept MJ Sheriff's work card to apply. We are looking to hire immediately. Cannabis security management experience preferred, but not required.

You will maintain a high visibility presence and uphold safety standards within the interior and exterior of the property.

Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions:

  • Candidates with 3+ yrs of security management experience, solid work ethic and good references are encouraged to apply.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule to support the needs of the business. Able to work any shift, including but not limited to nights and weekends.
  • Report to the Security Manager and upper management team.
  • Mentor, train and guide the Security team with structured best practices to protect company’s property, staff and visitors by maintaining a highly visible presence on the facility/grounds to ensure a safe and secure environment.
  • Monitor the ingress and egress of employees, visitors, vendors and customers with the ability to detect suspicious or unsafe activity, investigate disturbances, diffuse situations and evict violators.
  • Situational awareness and ability to react quickly and professionally to split-second issues that might arise.
  • Maintaining and utilizing daily logs and badge system for visitors and employees.
  • Take a proactive approach in all areas of security compliance. Mentor and train the security team to do the same.
  • Patrol the facility and perimeter regularly and as required. Report in detail any suspicious or unusual occurrences to the security and Management Teams or local authorities promptly.
  • Operate the CCTV and alarm systems as necessary to ensure the security of the facility.
  • Know the facility, company policies, and procedures of the Safety position and enforce them. Follow established emergency action planning and procedures.
  • Ability to diffuse situations that may arise and the ability to effectively and calmly manage large crowds.
  • Manage breaks and lunches based on the needs of the Security team.
  • Manager the Security team's schedule with the Management teams recommendations.
  • Consult with the management team on any security concerns and address them promptly.
  • Excellent communication skills in person and by email are required.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements and skills:

  • Proven work experience as a security manager leading a team of employees.
  • Excellent knowledge of public safety and security procedures/protocol. Must be familiar with de-escalation tactics.
  • Basic Computer Skills, Microsoft Office experience preferred (Some excel, word, etc.).
  • Basic Math Skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, etc.)
  • Ability to operate detecting systems and emergency equipment.
  • Acts in relation to co-workers, visitors and or general public in a manner consistent with the best interest of the company.
  • Works with Integrity and professionalism and has a sense of urgency.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Excellent leadership skills.
  • Ability to work on a team and communicating effectively on the job, using the chain of command.
  • Maintains appropriate grooming and uniform standards. Overall appearance is to be neat and clean at all times.
  • Keeps confidential all information pertinent to the security, professional and private business of Company functions and employees.
  • Can provide certifications of security courses you have attended and/or is willing to train and obtain necessary security training certifications as a requirement of employment.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to walk long distances and be able to stand for prolonged periods at least 8-10 hours consecutive per day.

  • Lift up to 50 pounds without assistance. Must be physically fit and able bodied.
  • Must be able to walk, carry, bend, stand for entire work shift, lift, and push/pull as needed.
  • Maintains appropriate grooming and uniform standards. Overall appearance is to be neat and clean at all times.
  • Walk at least a half-mile continuous without needing relief.
  • Ability to withstand inclement weather conditions for periods during assigned shift regarding but not limited to (Wind, Heat, Rain, Snow, etc.)

Minimum Requirements:

  • At least 21 years of age with valid identification
  • Experience in the cannabis industry preferred
  • Has or can obtain NV Dept of Taxation Dispensary Marijuana Establishment Agent’s Card and other work cards as required.
  • Has or can obtain a LV Metro Sheriff's Marijuana ID Work Card and other work cards as required.
  • Reliable transportation to and from work
  • Minimum of 3 years of previous experience in security management, police or military with honorable discharge
  • Ability to pass a background investigation and is able to work in the United States
  • Basic understanding and use of the English language (Reading and Writing)
  • First Aid / CPR Qualified with current certificates.
  • Be able to demonstrate proficiency with MS Word, MS Excel, MS Media.
  • Education: High School Diploma/GED
  • Providing a resume and work references are required

Job Type and rate of pay:

Full-time hourly position. $17.50/hr. Schedule is primarily evenings and weekends but can vary with or without notice to support the needs of the business.

Essential Functions: * Display significant comprehension of local, state, and federal regulations regarding the safety requirements of a licensed marijuana establishment * Develop and implement procedures to ensure that the retail location, all exterior entrances/exits, parking lots, and perimeter fences remain secure at all times * Implement policies and procedures to detect that no breaches of security have occurred * Ensure staff is prepared to respond to distress calls made by Deep Roots Harvest Staff * Conduct routine patrols and site walks with staff to identify potential security threats * Ensure that security staff allow only Deep Roots employees with State of Nevada issued Marijuana Agent Cards, or visitor badges enter and remain on the property of Deep Roots Harvest * Effectively direct and control traffic on Company premises * Maintain open communication with facility staff on policies, procedures, and processes * Ensure that security Agents ID, document, and issue visitor badges to site visitors and arrange for them to be escorted at all times while on Deep Roots Harvest facility premises * Perform routine and periodic checks to verify all electronic security systems are properly functioning including, but not limited to;
