Cannabis Extraction Technician (San Leandro)

THC Extraction Chemist/Technician


Our cannabinoid extraction lab division is seeking an assistant extraction technician to assist in our daily extraction operations. The extraction process involves cannabinoids (mainly CBD) extraction, conversion, and manipulation techniques. We are also involved with developing water-soluble formulations with our product, nano emulsions or similar processes, and other infusion methods applicable for biomass and flowers. It requires you to be on the floor and actively involved in the process with the extraction team members. The job includes following SOP, implementing quality control standards, documenting and analyzing (progress, yields, KPIs), material preparation and handling, and achieving daily, weekly, and monthly goals.


Daily responsibilities:


1. Operating and cleaning extraction equipment according to batch specifications and target daily yields/goals.

2. Clear understanding of the entire extraction/production process from material intake, handling, loading, extraction, unloading, waste disposable, product collection, inventory management, and storage.

3. Able to follow instructions clearly and execute accordingly.

4. Internal audit and document quality control indicators according to company guidelines.

5. Daily production data/yields record keeping.

6. Able to work independently or as a team player.

7. Strong verbal and written communication skills with the executive team and relevant team members.

8. Monitor and evaluating all progress and target yields, while continually improving the operational process.

9. Documenting and analyzing KPIs relative to the production process and present the findings to management.

10. Able to troubleshoot and problem solve independently when appropriate.

11. Proactively resolve issues that may arise with management and team members.

12. Ensure product, protocols, and environment complies to regulatory standards and requirements.

13. Follow all safety protocols throughout the production cycle.

14. Keep facility clean and sanitized daily.


Key skills:


1. Windows or Mac office suites such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint.

2. Strong understanding on operating PLC interface.

3. Proficient in plant or crude oil extraction techniques.

4. Minimum chemistry associate degree and prior lab experience is a must.

5. Able to handle and lift 60lbs, and standing and moving around the facility constantly.


Experience with HPLC analytical lab equipment is a plus.

Experience with cGMP for food industry is a plus.

Able to speak Cantonese/Mandarin and English is a plus.

Be able to stand for prolonged periods of time, bend, kneel, squat, and twist

Ability to use Hand-Trucks, pallet jacks, dollies, and carts to move larger and heavier items. Strenuous hand, forearm, bicep, and shoulder work. Long hours using heavy tools manually crushing frozen cannabis flower in a sub-zero temperature environment. Manual and machine washing of dishes with solvents.
