CATEGORY MANAGER

This is your chance to be at the forefront of leading the charge to make Jushi the standard in multi-state cannabis operations. We are seeking a Category Manager for our National Procurement team headquartered in Boca Raton, FL. The Category Manager will be accountable for strategizing and executing procurement savings projects across their assigned category. He/she will work directly with business stakeholders and other procurement team members to execute sourcing projects that deliver continuous cost, performance, and process improvements. The Category Manager should be an expert in creating competitive environments and making business decisions rooted in data analytics.


THE TEAM:

We identify, evaluate, and acquire U.S.-based cannabis operations within each state to vertically integrate, produce, and distribute medical grade cannabis formulations in the United States offering patients and customers premium, high-grade cannabis and related products.


WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Manage the fundamentals of sourcing and supplier engagement activities for assigned Category, including RFP/RFQ, spend pattern analysis, contract analysis and negotiations, bid evaluation, and supplier consolidation/rationalization
  • Develop measurable SLAs/KPIs
  • Evaluate supplier core competencies and competitive positioning using industry cost models and bench-marking analysis
  • Deliver against business objectives for internal clients and achieve sustainable relationships with suppliers - Supplier performance scorecard
  • Ensure the deployment of strategic purchasing through appropriate buying channels and preferred suppliers, driven by stakeholder requirements
  • Develop and maintain expert knowledge of respective supply markets, competitors, and product innovations
  • Provide guidance to internal stakeholders on procurement processes and maintaining procurement ethics
  • Identifying cost reduction and process improvement projects within the supply chain
  • Help lead and coach assigned procurement specialist


WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing, or related field
  • 5 years proven experience as Category Manager or similar role ideally in CPG companies
  • Solid knowledge of category management, marketing, and negotiation tactics
  • Understanding of data analysis and forecasting methods
  • Expert knowledge in various procurement categories
  • Familiar with the Procure-to-pay cycle
  • Experience in Contract management
  • Operational experience with ERP systems
  • Extensive MS Office Suite experience including knowledge of Excel
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and prioritization skills
  • Strong people skills and written/oral communication skills
  • Ability to problem solve complex issues; know when to escalate

Review all paperwork including POS inventory, payroll, time tracking and other assignments prior to submittal. Effective time management and attention to detail is required.</p><p>• Capture and record information for daily, weekly and monthly paperwork, calls and meetings including asset reconciliation, consumer insights, data capturing, photos of event activities, receipts, payroll, inventories and other required paperwork.</p><p>• Ensure all business-related expenses are reported on time and accurately, including submittal of invoices and receipts, monthly expense reports and purchase order requests.</p><p>• Possess basic mathematics skills to manage budgets and balance assigned assets and inventories.</p><p><b>Qualifications</b></p><p>• College degree preferred or equivalent in relevant work experience.</p><p>• 2+ years’ experience in a related field marketing role.</p><p>• A thorough understanding of consumer and trade marketing brand strategies.</p><p>• Knowledge of local on- and off-premise cannabis market, including local laws and statutes.</p><p>• Negotiation skills and cold-calling experience, specifically as it relates to events and venue access.</p><p>• Strong budget management skills with previous budget management and oversight experience.</p><p>• Ability to gain and maintain an in-depth understanding of target consumer and market trends</p><p>• Strong public speaking skills.</p><p>• Compliance with all standard safety requirements and guidelines.</p><p>• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint etc.).</p><p>• Strong communication skills – written and verbal.</p><p>• Highly motivated, self-directed, innovative and able to work independently or among teams with keen judgement, common sense, and resourcefulness.</p><p>• Adapts and thrives in a demanding, start-up, fast-paced environment.</p><p>• Possesses a high level of critical thinking.</p><p>• Operates with a high level of professionalism and integrity, including dealing with confidential information.</p><p>• Strong organization planning &amp; project management skills</p><p>• Must understand and comply with the rules, regulations, policies, and procedures of Green Thumb.</p><p>• Ability to travel out of market overnight multiple times throughout the year.
