Director of Loss Prevention

Purpose

Cookies Retail is a preferred global retail partner of Cookies that will be opening and operating store across the US and beyond.

The Director of Loss Prevention is responsible for the strategic planning and execution of the company's Loss Prevention program across all stores nationwide. This person will work closely with cross functional leadership teams throughout the organization, such as Retail & Store Operations, Finance, Legal, Compliance, Supply Chain, Human Resources, to ensure company assets including people, cash, and inventory, and are safeguarded.

This position has overall leadership responsibility to ensure the safeguarding of company assets from losses due to internal/external theft or fraud.

This position will develop and implement strategies to reduce shrink, and prevent fraudulent activity in retail stores and ecommerce, increasing overall profitability.

Core Responsibilities

· Develop and execute a strategy to reduce shrink in retail stores and ecommerce while supporting hospitality and customer experience.

· Work closely and partner with Cookies Enterprises Director of Security to ensure Security Guard coverage is adequate per store and post orders are followed at all times.

· Effectively lead loss prevention efforts at the executive level, in collaboration with all key cross functional executive partners.

· Create and implement Loss Prevention policies and procedures, in partnership with Store Operations executives.

· Reshape the retail culture to provide a "prevention" versus "apprehension" mindset-setting a new tone for Loss Prevention

· Partner with Store Operations to effectively drive operational excellence in all levels of the field organization

· Effectively oversee and develop an LP team, in the field and HQ, identifying potential leadership talent and actively play a role in their growth.

· Ensure that all operational metrics and financial objectives are exceeded.

· Support an internal investigations program that best utilizes tools such as Aspect exception reporting, video , EAS, covert equipment, case management tools, as well as professional interview and interrogation techniques.

· Conducts assessments of Loss Prevention or operational performance that impacts shrink and actively works with store management in the development and implementation of action plans to improve performance

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Passion for and knowledgeable about Cannabis security
  • Passion for Cookies Culture
  • Bachelor degree or CPP certification preferred
  • Wicklander & Zulawski or other interview techniques certification preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of Loss Prevention, team leadership and retail operations experience required.
  • Theft investigation knowledge
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work and lead cross functional teams
  • Travel, including overnight, will be required
  • Must be able to work independent with little supervision

JOB SUMMARY* The position's principal responsibilities focus on demonstrating proficiency in general and moderately complex administrative functions of a unit, including serving as a resource on issues, policies and procedures, supporting human resource functions, maintaining inventory or facilities, entering fiscal transactions, and contributing to the development of unit systems and processes. Perform purchasing functions in accordance with replenishment requirements. Purchase equipment, materials and supplies for the facility upon director from management and staff. Expedite and follow up with suppliers to schedule deliveries, resolve discrepancies, and handle damages and returns. QUALIFICATIONS * 3-5 years of experience related to office management, employee relations, and finance. Passion to assist employees. Human Resources background is a plus. Calendaring and schedule management skills. Good interpersonal skills and proven ability to positively influence people; must be capable of effectively interacting at all levels in the organization. Highly organized and capable of working independently under pressure and meeting deadlines. Proficient in Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and willingness to learn other programs, as necessary. Demonstrated competence in project management.
