Forward Greens is a unique, leading edge company in the indoor vertical agriculture industry. Our headquarters and farm are located in Vancouver, Washington across the river from Portland, Oregon. Forward Greens has an immediate opening for a full-time Operations Manager at our farm in Vancouver. This is a wonderful opportunity for the right person to step into a rapidly growing company and make a big difference. The Operations Manager will initially report to the company’s CEO.

Responsibilities

· Maintain and mange a safe and clean workspace for all team members.

· Follow and evangelize all Forward Greens food safety and work safety policies. Recruit, hire, train and organize operations team members, which include farm operator and the food processing teams.

· Schedule and manage daily shifts.

· Meet and exceed targets for production efficiency.

· Co-ordinate safety, food safety, and certification training and support with the Quality Manager

· Minimize work interruptions and achieve a 100% fulfillment rates for all orders and customers.

· Create and foster a cohesive, positive culture for the operations team, ensuring retention of valuable employees and an appealing workplace.

· Order and manage inventories of medium, seed, packing supplies and other consumables for the operations team.

· Must be able to troubleshoot, direct & supervise the floor staff to address issues.

· Must uphold a system of monitoring and planning continuous improvements across floor operations that involves operations team.

· Ensure workers are qualified and knowledgeable about their roles and make assignments according to skill sets.

· Enforce our Employee Conduct Handbook and performance goals for individuals to reinforce the best employee practices & make disciplinary decisions when necessary.

Requirements:

· At least 3-years management and/or foreman experience in a food production environment.

· At least 1-year experience working in a food-safe environment.

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite is a must.
