Full Job Description

Responsible for day-to-day cultivation at a state-of-the-art cannabis cultivation facility. The Cultivator will grow, care for, and maintain cannabis plants from propagation to harvest. The ideal candidate will be able to utilize technical procedures to apply nutrients, fertilizers, pesticides, and to regulate environmental controls to adjust humidity, temperature, and light levels. Priority is to monitor crop development and maintain quality standards. Focus on detail and priority development are necessary attributes.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE

  • (Preferred) is familiar with rockwool, drip irrigation, dosatron, and LED lighting.
  • Must possess the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Need to be a detail-oriented team player with strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve plant health issues like mold, mildew, or other infestations
  • Knowledge of the entire cannabis growth cycle
  • Experience in indoor horticulture and greenhouses is a plus.
  • Candidates must be in good physical condition and able to work in an indoor grow room environment for extended periods of time if needed.
  • Ability to demonstrate high ethical standards and set a positive example for co-workers.
  • Proven experience as large scale, commercial indoor grower with strong management experience
  • Good interpersonal communication, able to work well with others, as part of a team.
  • Willingness to work nights, holidays, and/or weekends - assigned hours will change based on business needs.
  • Ability to tolerate exposure to grow room elements such as heat, cold, water, high humidity.
  • Ability to take initiative and work with minimum supervision.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of changing situations.
  • Other combinations of education and experience which can be demonstrated to result in the possession of the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the duties of this position may be considered.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in plant biology, botany, agricultural sciences, or relevant major preferred.
  • 5 year(s) of manufacturing experience preferred.
  • 3 year(s) of management experience preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of plant cultivation and/or cultivation and processing facility operations preferred.
  • OSHA certification is a plus.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage the grow area to maintain the highest level of product quality and customer satisfaction.
  • Perform cultivation facility tasks including but not limited to cloning, transplanting, vegetation, feeding, nutrient management, defoliation, topping, flushing, foliar feeding, drying/curing, trimming, waste disposal, and pest prevention.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment at all times.
  • Maintain accurate daily activity records and operation logs as directed.
  • Assist staff with daily sanitation and organization of all equipment present within the facility.
  • Communicate effectively.
  • Supervise of the cultivation team when related to sowing, thinning, weeding, transplanting, moving plants, watering, applications, potting, shipping and loading.
  • Perform all the tasks in the grow including cloning, transplanting, fertilizing, defoliation, pruning, IPM and plant schedule.
  • Ensure that all plants are tracked according to company policy and regulatory (METRC) statues throughout the entirety of the crop life cycle.
  • Direct the facility in meeting all production goals.
  • Ensure departments are following all policies, procedures, and processes.
  • Respond to employee questions, concerns, and feedback.
  • Take action when necessary to resolve conflicts.
  • Collaborate with upper management on quality control, continuous improvement, and operational budget.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

· Must be eligible to work in the U.S. and able to pass a background screening.

· Must sign and adhere to an NDA.

· Must be at least 21 years of age.

· Must be able to lift up to 49 pounds.

The R&amp;D Manager will need to demonstrate proper ergonomic form and posture, follow all OSHA guidelines and requirements while on site to ensure a safe workplace, and overall be a durable employee with respect to the physical requirements of the research team’s assigned tasks.</div><div></div><div><br />Travel</div><div></div><div><br />Any/most travel will be primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be expected for emergency supply runs and conference attendance.</div><div></div><div><br />Desired Employee Attributes</div><div></div><ul><li><br />If required by any state program, the mandated current employee badge or license and any associated/required agricultural certificates;</li><li>Experience and competency operating an automated cultivation control system (Argus, Rhythm, Priva); and</li><li>Employment experience in a regulated hemp and/or cannabis program.</li></ul><div></div><div><br />Additional Employment Requirements</div><div></div><ul><li><br />Individuals applying must be a minimum of 21 years old;</li><li>Applicants must be a state resident or be willing to relocate at their own expense;</li><li>The ideal candidate must be able to obtain any necessary credentials for employment in any state regulated programs; and</li><li>Applicants may need to submit to a pre-employment background check that may include financial history.</li></ul><div></div><div><br />The company employee handbook not withstanding, the company reserves the right to discipline or terminate any R&amp;D Manager or other staff member that does not comply with the expectations listed in this job description.
