Position Description:

We are looking for a per diem Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner in the Eastern PA/NJ market. The RNP will conduct consultations with patients, reviewing their current medical conditions along with medications, provide marijuana education, discuss the forms of consumption that are available in the dispensary and make appropriate recommendations while adhering to state guidelines and regulations. You will communicate effectively with all levels of the organization to implement and maintain deals, protocols, policies, and procedures in accordance with company standards.


Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Become proficient with point-of-sale system (MJ Freeway)
  • Track various metrics on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis
  • Ensure compliance with all PA Medical Marijuana rules and regulations
  • Verify patient certifications along with any limitations set forth by the certifying physician
  • Conduct patient consultations, provide marijuana education, discuss forms of consumption available, make appropriate recommendations and follow-up on patients progress when applicable
  • Maintain records for all necessary patient related documents
  • Cultivate a partnership with the Dispensary General Manager (GM) and dispensary staff
  • Provide feedback to both the Director of Education and Medical Professionals along with the GM
  • Assist in training with new Medical Professionals, APPE students, etc. when needed
  • Participate in monthly and quarterly staff meetings along with monthly/quarterly/annually check-ins with the Director of Education and Medical Professionals
  • Measurables will include but are not limited to: number of consultations performed, average consultation times, proper documentation/recommendations as specified, writing cannabis based articles for monthly Physician Newsletter, documenting case studies and monthly case reviews
  • Encouraged to participate in advanced cannabis education, on-going research, discoveries, safety measures, etc.
  • Participating in volunteer and outreach events when applicable
  • Participate in bi-yearly inventory audits

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Must be a Registered Physician Assistant and/or Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner in the state of Pennsylvania, with an active unrestricted license in good standing
  • No prior license revocation
  • Must have already completed the Pennsylvania Department of Health 4-Hour CE Course
  • Additional CE credits, beyond the required 4-Hour PA DOH CME Course, which are cannabis based, preferred
  • Must be able to complete both internal and external background checks, clear of felonies
  • 3+ years of retail experience preferred
  • Must be proficient with computers, POS systems, excel, word and Microsoft TEAMS
  • Proven organizational skills
  • Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization
  • Leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Time and attendance efficient
  • Have a proven record of working effectively with patients
  • Must be able to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays

Physical Requirements:

  • Able to push, pull, lift, or move a minimum of 50 lbs.
  • Capable of sitting, standing, kneeling, bending, squatting and or walking for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to handle cash or card transactions with patients using an electronic processing system

You’ll have the unique opportunity to serve as a one-on-one educator to our cannabis patients and you’ll excel at completing a prospective drug utilization review to assess: appropriateness of therapy; appropriate strain, dosage, route, and duration; allergies and drug interactions contraindications; and possible misuse. All in all, we’re looking for someone blazing with passion for medical cannabis who also has the medical expertise to help our patients use it responsibly and effectively.</p><p><b>Responsibilities</b></p><p>• Pharmacists shall be in-store at all times during their scheduled shift to allow for dispensation of cannabis products.</p><p>• Responsible for securing coverage for any time off (paid time off or unpaid time off). Schedule changes shall be communicated with dispensary managers in advance and expected to follow fair scheduling practices.</p><p>• Assess patient certification to monitor for restrictions and where appropriate help patients to determine best course of treatment.</p><p>• Drive retail sales and patient retention</p><p>• Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures and federal and state laws</p><p>• Communicate restrictions with dispensary team to ensure any limitations on product selection/quantity</p><p>• Provide timely and accurate medication information to patients over the phone and in-person</p><p>• Educate new and existing patients about the properties and benefits of cannabis</p><p>• Consults patients and assesses patient’s certification to recommend best course of treatment</p><p>• Responsible to stay up to date on current research and information related to cannabis/marijuana</p><p>• Pharmacists may assist with additional dispensary tasks, as store manager deems fit. These include but are not limited to accepting product deliveries, returns, inventory controls, employee trainings, fulfilling online orders, and completing patient orders at the registers</p><p>• Other duties as assigned</p><p><b>Qualifications</b></p><p>• Must be a registered and licensed Pharmacist in good standing with the state of operations</p><p>• 2+ years of relevant pharmacy experience with an excellent patient and customer focused approach</p><p>• Ability to learn and understand cannabinoids and how they interact with the human body</p><p>• Previous experience utilizing Point of Sale technology systems.</p><p>• Working knowledge of inventory and sales reporting</p><p>• Highly motivated, self-directed, innovative and able to work independently or among teams with keen judgement, common sense and resourcefulness</p><p>• Adapts and thrives in a demanding, fast-paced environment</p><p>• Possesses a high level of critical thinking</p><p>• Operates with a high level of professionalism and integrity, including dealing with confidential information</p><p>• Must understand and comply with the rules, regulations, policies, and procedures of Green Thumb</p><p>• Must have a solid understanding of the Cannabis laws, rules and regulations and passion to further their understanding and knowledge of the industry and the laws.</p><p>Additional Requirements</p><p>• Must pass any and all required background checks</p><p>• Must be and remain compliant with all legal or company regulations for working in the industry</p><p>• Must possess valid driver’s license</p><p>• Must be a minimum of 21 years of age</p><p>• Must be approved by state badging agency to work in cannabis industry</p><p>As an employer of more than 100 employees, Green Thumb will be operating in accordance with the Biden Administration’s Path Out of the Pandemic should the mandate take effect</p></div>","company":{"website":"gtigrows.com","companyType":"Public/Established","name":"Green Thumb Industries (GTI)","logoUrl":"/logos/green-thumb-industries-gti-251a0a04f4d3572804c1830639474e95.png"},"location":{"country":"United States","address":"Cleveland, OH, USA","city":"Cleveland","stateProvince":"OH"},"frontendLink":"/job-posting/green-thumb-industries-gti/pharmacist/fb5f9ab64aa943345197b93765d84faf","title":"Pharmacist","category":"Manufacturing","hash":"fb5f9ab64aa943345197b93765d84faf","postingUrl":"https://www.linkedin.com/jobs/view/pharmacist-at-green-thumb-industries-gti-2829788637","salary":"$120k - $160k"}]
