The Opportunity

We are seeking a talented Senior Talent Acquisition Specialist to join our team! The successful candidate for this role will be in charge of filling a variety of unique job positions within Canopy Growth Corporation. They will also work closely with our existing recruiting team to ensure that we are attracting top talent not only by assessing incoming applications, but by actively sourcing passive candidates.

The Senior Recruiter will be natural problem-solver who will provide top-notch service to applicants and hiring managers alike. They will also help facilitate recruitment-related activities including public outreach and trainings with key stakeholders. The successful candidate will ideally have experience working on high-level searches, with a focus on sales, eCommerce and retail recruitment in order to support our Commercial business.

Responsibilities

Talent Sourcing:

• Preparing job descriptions, job postings and other recruitment documentation using Microsoft Office, Ceridian Dayforce and other recruiting networks such as Linked In.

• Coordinating prescreens, interviews and necessary follow ups with candidates

• Proactively providing meaningful market intelligence and recruiting insights to Hiring Managers and HR, demonstrating value as a trusted advisor in the recruitment and selection process

• Leading recruiting activities through to successful hire with a strong focus on direct candidate identification and sourcing of talent

• Monitoring and analyzing recruitment activity of assigned business area to support conversation around volume, performance and forecasting

• Consistently delivering a best-in-class experience to all candidates applying to the organization

• Ensuring compliance with relevant employment legislation for Canada, US and Europe

• Assisting in recruitment and onboarding of temporary support from external agencies

Administration and Reporting:

• Managing and updating requisitions through to completion; including ensuring real time system updates

• Aiding in generating recruitment reports and status updates for managers and senior leadership as needed

Other projects:

• Participating in continuous improvement projects with the Talent Acquisition department, with a focus on improving recruiting practices and overall candidate and hiring manager experience

• Taking the lead in training new Recruiters, and introducing the recruiting process to new Canopy Growth team members

• Providing support to team of Recruiters and being a main point of contact for all recruitment matters in the absence of Manager, Talent Acquisition

• Other duties as assigned

Experience

• Minimum five years progressive experience in recruiting up to mid-level management roles, with a Commercial focus (sales, analytics, eCommerce, retail)

• Recruitment experience within a global organization with high-volume recruitment

• Demonstrated use of effective and best in class sourcing and candidate generation techniques, including passive candidate identification

• Able to assess a candidate's initial fit to a role and sell them on the opportunity

• Able to assess the candidate's motivations and effectively craft a dialogue that leads to a "yes" decision

• Proven ability in building strong relationships and advise stakeholders for the purposes of improving hiring outcomes

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Experience in providing coaching and mentoring support to a small team of recruiters

• Professionalism, organization, and superb time management skills

• Strong knowledge of applicable employment legislation in Canada, US and Europe

• Ability to handle sensitive or private information with tact and discretion

• Degree or diploma in Human Resources an asset

• Bilingualism (French and English) an asset

As a recruiter, you will be responsible for managing the full-cycle recruitment process for positions at every level and across multiple locations.
