Overview:

Antidote’s Quality Assurance Person (QAP) plays a critical role in our success.

Our QAP is responsible for the verification and validation of quality assurance, ensuring that cannabis products meet the objectives for quality, safety, regulatory, and customer expectations in accordance with the Cannabis Act and relevant regulations.

The QAP will advise on, establish and monitor Quality Management Systems, and coordinate activities to meet production and product quality standards.

This role is tasked with creating clear and manageable documentation for internal and external audiences while complying with regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

Create and manage Antidote’s overall quality program and lead in developing, reviewing, and maintaining uncomplicated SOPs to ensure compliance under the Cannabis Act and Regulations.
Develop training programs around SOPs and assess training gaps continuously.
Create detailed processes for production batch record review including deviations, change controls, and sanitation records.
Oversee and develop a pest control program, facility and equipment maintenance procedures, record keeping, sanitation, and quality control systems
Oversee analytical testing on each lot or batch of cannabis; ensure testing is conducted using validated methods, investigate deviations and out-of-spec results; determine release, quarantine.
Collaborate to develop and perform internal audits regularly to determine quality assurance compliance according to Cannabis Regulations.
Perform analysis of reports and production data to identify trends and recommend updates or changes to quality standards and procedures when necessary.
Investigate complaints regarding the quality of cannabis production and ensure immediate corrective action when necessary; take corrective and preventative measures.
Point of contact for Health Canada inspections

Education / Experience:

Current Health Canada Security Clearance in an approved QAP role required
Post-secondary education is preferred however direct experience will be equally considered
3+ years experience in regulated industry; GPP / GMP preferred
2+ years of GPP/GMP Manufacturing
Intermediate computer skills using Microsoft Office including Word and Excel
Experience with QMS software preferred
Demonstrated experience identifying opportunities for continuous improvement and taking initiative to lead them to completion
Demonstrated ability at effective team building and excellent people skills

Core Competencies:

Exceptional attention to detail
Able to take complex information and extrapolate it into straightforward documentation
Ability to manage conflict and maintain strong team relations

This position is being offered as part-time; approximately 25-30 hours/week over the next 3-4 months and 20-25 hours/week ongoing.

JOB SUMMARY: The Quality Specialist is responsible for overseeing quality and compliance of existing and new products and in our co-manufactured product portfolio. RESPONSIBILITIES:• Understand United States (U.S.) federal and state regulatory requirements pertaining to food, hemp, dietary supplements, and cosmetics• Collaborate among Quality, Research and Development, Marketing, Sales and Supply Chain to coordinate and implement quality and compliant new product launches• Support the development and compliance of product labels, including formulation and naming, ingredients lists, allergen declarations, nutritional or supplement facts tables, and product claims• Register manufacturing sites and products in accordance with relevant regulations• Evaluate, approve, and oversee ingredient, packaging, and co-manufacturing suppliers to ensure compliance with internal and external quality and food safety regulations (GFSI, cGMP, HACCP, etc.)• Perform supplier audits to ensure compliance with internal and regulatory requirements• Develop specifications for new products in line with risk assessment, customer expectations, and regulatory requirements• Coordinate product testing at third party laboratories• Develop product stability studies• All team members are responsible to report on food safety and/or quality problems to personnel with the authority to initiate corrective actions• Other duties as assigned by the organization REQUIREMENTS:• Post-secondary degree related to Science or Nutrition• 5+ years' experience in Regulatory Affairs or Quality Management Systems in food, beverage or pharmaceutical environments• Quality assurance experience leading the implementation of GFSI, GMP, or HACCP systems in food manufacturing facilities• Thorough knowledge and understanding of the U.S. Food & Drugs Act and Regulations and other consumer packaging regulations• Understanding of hemp or cannabis regulations is an asset• Strong working knowledge and experience in nutrition, product formulations, claims, and labelling standards• Ability to set priorities, perform root cause analyses, and provide appropriate structure to solve problems• Excellent interpersonal, motivational, team building and leadership abilities• Excellent report writing, communication, facilitation, and negotiation skillsAbout Tilray Brands Inc.Tilray Brands is a leading global cannabis-lifestyle and consumer packaged goods company with operations in Canada, the United States, Europe, Australia, and Latin America that is changing people's lives for the better – one person at a time – by inspiring and empowering the worldwide community to live their very best life by providing them with products that meet the needs of their mind, body, and soul and invoke a sense of wellbeing. As a QA Specialist, you will be responsible for assisting with quality-related activities at the facility associated with sampling and inspection of finished products, customer complaints, product investigations, and Corrective and Prevention Action (CAPA). Product families include cannabis flower, cannabis oil, manufacturing infused products (lotion, capsules, vape pens/cartridges, transdermal patches), and food products (chocolate, gummies, cookies). This position will also help ensure products are being produced in a manner that meets all specifications and brand consistency. You will also assist in identifying potential quality risks and working with operations personnel to develop improvement opportunities.
