• Support the Quality Assurance Manager with the design, implementation, monitoring, and continuous improvement of quality programs in all aspects of production

• Define, design, and deliver risk analyses and preventative control plans for Westleaf Labs LP cannabis products

• Review batch documentation, to ensure adherence to GPP before sending for QAP approval

Key responsibilities:

• Perform internal and external quality audits

• Prepare the site for Health Canada and Third-party inspections and complete NNCP after QAP approval and submit to HC (CTLS)

• Review and Perform vendor qualifications on external suppliers

• Ensure suppliers and contract manufacturers are meeting standards and specifications

• Ensure that documentation, complaints, deviations, non-conformances, investigations, corrective, and preventative actions, and change control are performed according to quality and regulatory requirements

• Define, design, and implement Standard Operating Procedures and take ownership over their continuous improvement

• Lead customer complaint investigations in tandem with the Quality Control Team

• Review deviation reports to ensure adherence to internal processes and suggest corrective and preventative actions

• Coordinates the development of training files for all staff, ensures required training is complete and all training records are continually updated and maintained.

• Assist QAM to Initiate audit programs (regulatory, internal and third party)

• Assist in updating methods and procedures (SOPs) related to production, pest control, building, equipment, packaging, labeling and storage and distribution of cannabis

• Define and design PCP for new and existing processes

• Assists the Quality Assurance Person and QA Manager in managing the Quality Management System.

• Ensures accurate record keeping and filing as per organizational procedures.

• Ensure efficiency of a Quality Management System for all operational activities. Monitor process control points and take measures to eliminate deviations

• Oversee sampling of raw materials and finished goods for testing and retention purposes, when applicable.

• Supports the reporting of incidents or adverse events to regulatory bodies and maintenance of the company’s pharmacovigilance system.

• Assists with tracking metrics related to compliance and efficiency of the quality systems and provides recommendations for improvement.

• Assist in the investigation and report all suspicious transactions and losses.

• Assist with the authorization, processing and managing all returned product.

• Assist with operational activities as required.

• Review COAs and all other private brand documents.

• Complete all other tasks related to the position, as assigned by the Quality Assurance Manager or QAP

Qualifications:

• 2-5 years of experience in a quality position within the pharmaceutical, natural health. food product or cannabis industries

• Knowledge of cannabis quality metrics is considered an asset

• Experience in GFSI standards or GMP environment is an asset

• Strong verbal and written communication skills

• Excellent attention to detail

• Proven analytical & creative thinking, and adept at solving problems

• Minimum Bachelor’s degree in a science related field

• Proven track record of success in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment

• Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines is required

• Knowledge of Cannabis Regulations is an asset
