We are expanding our supply chains department and want to add a Purchasing Manager. We are seeking an experienced Purchasing Manager to handle our company's procurement activities. The Purchasing Manager's responsibilities include developing purchasing strategies, maintaining positive relationships with suppliers, coordinating with internal teams regarding their supply needs, and overseeing the purchasing team in their daily activities. To be successful as a Purchasing Manager you should be able to manage and optimize purchasing activities, processes and lead a team or manage their team. An outstanding Purchasing Manager should have excellent leadership abilities and be able to negotiate the best possible deals with suppliers.

Core Responsibilities

· Facilitates the sourcing and weekly ordering of all retail shelves inventory for multiple locations from within the brand catalog.

· Works with Regional Inventory Manager to ensure appropriate inventory levels are maintained based on target stock on hand and current ordering needs.

· Ensures the inventory file's data accuracy and maintains adequate inventory levels through regular out-of-stock reports, item counts, and maintenance of location codes.

· Constant merchandisers inventory to maintain a high level of retail shelf standards and the best possible product mix for each location.

· Develops healthy and beneficial relationships with vendors and works with them to ensure the best cost structure for the business and improve the store's product mix while driving cost down.

· Resolves any receiving/inventory/accounting issues with respective departments, including price discrepancies, negative inventory, credits, and overages.

· Assists marketing with the promotional product and event information for store events, social media, advertising opportunities, and product releases.

· Negotiate all terms, promotions, purchases, shelf space, and other business deals in the organization's financial best interest and in a competitive, data-driven manner with a specific goal of gross margin enhancement.

· Facilitates quarterly brand vetting process and Brand catalog creation.

· Source quality products and meet with representatives.

· Receive input from GMs, Chief Retail Officer, and Stakeholders, including customers.

· Train staff on inventory best practices and merchandising standards.\ Manage and control inventory systems (Point-of-Sale, Electronic Tracking System, inventory, online menus, etc.)

· Support business activities including continuous process improvement, forecasting, and cash flow management, wholesale purchasing with external grower-processors, cannabis and non-cannabis procurement, inventory control management systems, return processes, and storage/stocking and vault layout optimization
