Overall Job Purpose:

Reporting to the Production Manager, the Production Supervisor is responsible to supervise the day-to-day operations of the Packaging Department. The Production Supervisor will directly supervise and coordinate packaging staff in a manner that ensures a safe work environment, quality product output, schedule adherence, and team engagement and focus.

This is a hardworking, hands-on, rolls-up-your-sleeves environment emphasizing a team-oriented and collaborative management style. It will be key for the candidate to embrace change and see past obstacles with a focus on solutions in the context of a company undergoing rapid growth.

Responsibilities, including but not limited to:

• Ensure daily/weekly production plan is carried out on schedule with consistent product quality

• Respond to routine operational issues including troubleshooting mechanical and technical issues

• Assures product quality by practicing and enforcing Health Canada Regulations and FIGR Quality Systems

• Own SOPs for Packaging, train to SOP’s, and ensure employee adherence to SOP’s when performing tasks

• Implements the correction of product problems and process deficiencies through deviations and CAPAs

• Develop and maintain a team-based work environment by providing leadership, direction, coaching, training, and clear and consistent communication.

• In conjunction with HR and Management, identify, assemble and manage human resources required to complete operational processes, i.e., work scheduling, performance development, employee relations

• Identify training needs and facilitate training for packaging staff

• Ensure routine maintenance and cleaning tasks assigned to packaging are completed

• Assist in the development of positive cross departmental relationships

• Foster safe work practices by enforcing standard safety procedures and as required develop and implement practical recommendations for safety practices

• Assist with action items identified on safety audits

Candidate Profile:

• Minimum 2-3 years of production manufacturing experience

• (Experience in highly regulated industries such as Pharma/Food/Beverage/Cannabis preferred)

• Minimum 2-3 years in a supervisor/leadership role

• Operations management, business, engineering, supply chain, quality system experience/education would be an asset

• Highly proficiently in computerized environment; SAP, ADP, MS Office

• Excellent communication skills with a well-developed professional manner and a focus on positive, productive business relationships

• Self-starter, who works independently, takes responsibility, and demonstrates integrity
