Engineering Project Manager

Introduction

Reporting to the Director of Engineering and Maintenance, the Engineering Project Manager will be responsible for tracking new product launches (concept to ops handoff), net-new equipment installations and current process/equipment upgrades. This role is also responsible for identifying critical path and actioning tasks to help keep projects on-time and within budget by interacting between all functional groups on site outside groups (trade contractors). Effective communication with all stakeholders and upward reporting to Sr Management are critical tasks that must be performed regularly.

Position Overview:

- Provide regular updates and summary of progress for all critical projects. Identifying if projects are remaining in scope, are on schedule/delayed and tracking to budget
- Integration of new processes/equipment into manufacturing operations including bringing foreign equipment up to code for use in Ontario
- Definition of projects in conjunction with stakeholders including user requirements
- Proactively identify potential project roadblocks, define mitigation solutions and develop contingency plans as needed
- Working with Engineering and Operations teams to develop ROI and justification for projects (e.g. equipment commissioning, new product launches etc)
- Develop timelines for projects. Oftentimes having to work backwards from launch dates to determine critical path and milestones while under tight timelines.
- Ensure all required documentation is completed for project launches. Working with the different groups responsible for completion of the different docs to manage deadlines
- Actively monitoring progress of projects against schedule both internally and external
- Validate progress of suppliers and contractors as projects move forward. Identify roadblocks and delays quickly so solutions may be found
- Ensure project completion with successful handoff to Operations group
- Manage projects post implementation including measurement of key objectives, troubleshooting, optimization, road mapping; and
- Any other duties/responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications:

· P. Eng designation or working towards this an asset (Mechanical, Electrical, Integrated)

· PMP designation

· Strong verbal and written skills. Must be able to present ideas and solutions in a clear, concise manner.

· Experience with project deliverables and critical path planning

· Experience managing multiple projects at one time with several stakeholders in fast paced environment

· Experience with defining user requirements and translating equipment requirements as far as functionality and utilities

· Knowledge of general construction practices and building codes, certifications (ESA/TSSA), PSR’s an asset

· Security Cleared Holder status an asset

· CAD experience an asset (plant layout/floor planning, 2D)

· MS Office /Google suite

· Experience within Cannabis industry is considered an asset

Reporting to the Facility Manager for the facility to which he/she is assigned, the Maintenance Manager will work to oversee access, security, maintenance and services of the cultivation and processing facility to ensure optimum facility operation on a daily basis that provides for the work needs of the organization and its employees. In coordination with the Director of Facilities Engineering and the Facility Manager for their assigned facility, the Maintenance Manager plans, implements, coordinates and manages all mechanical operations, maintenance, communications, energy management, and manpower development programs within their assigned production facility.</p><p>• Manages the building's operational accounts and assists in development of operating and capital budgets both for their assigned facility as well as shared or company-wide systems, equipment or programs.</p><p>• Assists in operations and maintenance issues, troubleshooting and problem solving as required.</p><p>• Recommends and implements improvements for preventive maintenance programs on an on-going basis, maintains updated/current manuals from systems manufacturers. Develops/maintains effective building-specific maintenance and safety procedure manuals.</p><p>• Coordinates maintenance efforts with outside contractors, tenant finish personnel and technicians. Oversees all building systems including fire/life safety, plumbing, HVAC and electrical issues and must remain current with latest HVAC technology trends.</p><p>• Maintains on-going communication with facility management team and vendors; participates in facility management team meetings as required by the Facility Manager</p><p>• May assist in solicitation and acquisition of new management contracts, especially as they relate to their assigned facility.
