Job Summary:

Reporting to the VP, Business Intelligence and Planning, the Manager, Consumer Insights is responsible for leading and developing the consumer insights strategy to help drive the organization’s understanding, connection, and relevance with target consumers. In this role, the successful candidate will provide support in shaping the Company’s marketing and innovation strategy by better informing leadership decision making with methodically collected and validated consumer insights.


Responsibilities:
  • Establish standards for collecting and actioning quantitative and qualitative insights by working with marketing and category management teams; lead and manage research projects to ensure they meet time and budget parameters
  • Champion the consumer perspective by developing a deep understanding of their behaviors and usage occasions to allow for the best representation of the consumer mindset in key strategic discussions
  • Lead all aspects of Consumer Research: from recommending methodologies, identifying, and collaborating with vendors, managing design and scope of research, to independently managing all aspects of testing including recruiting, data collection/fielding and the comprehensive reporting of actionable insights
  • Lead Market & Trend Analysis: Lead synthesis and communication of market, retail, and consumer trends; ensure that relevant trends are acted upon in product and marketing strategies to stay at the leading edge of consumer and market trends
  • Build and maintain relationships with internal business partners, including marketing, sales, brand communications, innovation, and operations
  • Function as consumer advocate to represent customer’s voice in business decisions
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s Degree preferred
  • 5+ years of Consumer Products Marketing Research experience, with demonstrated Business Analytics capabilities and impact or equivalent
  • CPG background is an asset
  • Experience leading and conducting survey research end-to-end, including questionnaire development, programming, sample management, data weighting, analysis, and report writing
  • Strong knowledge of multiple insights tools and processes, both quantitative and qualitative
  • Proven track record of delivering actionable business recommendations, influencing decisions, and impacting results
  • Demonstrated ability to identify, articulate and uncover interconnectedness of deep consumer insights, data-driven insights, and marketplace trends
  • Experience in a fast-paced environment and ability to be successful through ambiguity
  • Ability to manage a portfolio of research projects with multiple business partners in a dynamic and evolving organization
  • Strong influencing and partnership skills across large matrixed organizations a plus
  • Demonstrated analytical skills (analyzing data, deriving insights); Demonstrated knowledge of syndicated services
  • Effective consulting and interpersonal/collaboration skills
  • Excellent written, oral, presentation and storytelling skills

We would also like to hear about your knowledge of the industry and marketing/marketing management experience.</p><p><b>To be considered for this position, you must:</b></p><p>RESIDE LOCALLY – While some teleworking is allowed, the Marketing Manager will be collaborating with the marketing team in our Arlington, WA facility.</p><p><b>PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:</b></p><p>• Build and lead a high-performing Marketing Team that works together with a shared understanding of Seattle's Private Reserve strategy and goals and who collaborates with other departments in their achievement.</p><p>• Oversees the design, content, e-commerce, and social media monitoring, ensuring brand continuity.</p><p>• Lead the marketing strategy, consumer insights, and customer engagement initiatives for the Seattle's Private Reserve brand. Work cross-functionally to present a cohesive and compelling brand experience to our target consumer that drives awareness, engagement, acquisition, traffic, and sales to the brand.</p><p>• Understand how to build a new brand, how to build a story around a brand</p><p>• Plan and execute campaigns for promotion, launching of new product lines, etc.</p><p>• Control budgets and allocate resources amongst projects</p><p>• Work with contractors for digital content marketing. Make recommendations and develop content based on marketing campaigns and corporate projects.</p><p>• Conduct general market research to keep abreast of trends and competitor’s marketing movements</p><p>• Prepares marketing activity reports; including, but not limited to marketing trends, product usage trends, digital marketing performance, environmental scans, and return on investment analysis.</p><p>• Actively monitor trends in digital marketing and emerging social media platforms.</p><p>• Analyze traffic and customer behavior to inform digital marketing strategy and prioritize initiatives that increase conversion, improve customer experience, and drive sales</p><p>• Responsible for coordinating valuable content for the company’s online presence, editorial design, and organizing the company’s publications</p><p>• Produce ideas for promotional events or activities and organize them efficiently</p><p>• Develop marketing strategies, editorial identity, and launch plans for new branding initiatives</p><p>• Will need to coordinate and work at occasional Expos, industry events, Sporting events where Seattle's Private Reserve is sponsoring. Plan for necessary supporting brochures, set up, the breakdown for successful events.</p><p>• Other duties as assigned.</p><p><b>SKILLS AND ABILITIES:</b></p><p>• Ability to organize own work, coordinate projects, set priorities, meet and track deadlines and follow up on assignments with minimum direction</p><p>• Candidate must know cannabis terminology, and Cannabis Science is a plus</p><p>• Possess strong business and operational senses; they can balance and address conflicting needs and timelines of multiple stakeholders.</p><p>• He/she can manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.</p><p>• Succinct, consistent, supportive, and transparent communication is utilized with all levels of the organization, regardless of the nature of the messages.</p><p>• Goals and information are communicated in a direct, honest, and straightforward manner to ensure there are no unnecessary surprises, and all team members are on the same page.</p><p>• Establishes and maintains relationships with industry influencers and key strategic partners.</p><p>• Ability to maintain professional boundaries and handle sensitive personnel information with discretion.</p><p>• Sets high, achievable performance expectations and coaches to achieve results.</p><p>• Has proven success leading and inspiring a team.</p><p>• Experience developing and leading overall marketing strategy independently, working closely with senior staff, and managing small internal teams.</p><p>• Successful track record in compiling and analyzing search data and metrics and making decisions regarding campaign direction</p><p>• Experience developing detailed marketing plans</p><p>• The candidate must have experience marketing different products within the same company and how to manage various brand styles while maintaining the overall company identity.</p><p>• Should be comfortable with public speaking</p><p>• Have a broad knowledge of direct to consumer customer contact and e-commerce business processes</p><p>• Strong attention to detail, assuring the accuracy of correspondence and written materials before distribution.</p><p>• The ideal candidate will demonstrate a track record of success in eCommerce marketing in a B2B vertical market, especially with new e-commerce start-ups.</p><p>• Fluency in Google Analytics, Google AdWords, Enhanced eCommerce, Google Tag Manager, Funnels, and A/B testing</p><p>• Thorough knowledge of web analytics.
