The Processing Technician is responsible for all processing tasks which include, milling, harvesting, drying, trimming and bulk packaging. The technician will perform these duties as per SOP specifications while adhering to all company and Health Canada regulations and protocol. This is a full-time role located at our Calyptra Facility in Sundre, Alberta.REPORTS TO:The Processing Technician will report to the Manager, Operations.ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIESProcessing• Identify and mitigate contamination events. • Perform safe and effective milling, harvesting, drying, trimming, bulk packaging, and secondary packaging techniques.• Assist the harvest team with the harvesting of finished flowers. • Ensure all staff within the processing department follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for processing activities during cannabis processing, to create a consistent quality cannabis product.• Ensure processing equipment and machinery are in order prior to use to meet or exceed safety requirements.• Assist with various other duties as required. Operational• Be willing to assist in other departments on down time such as Sanitation or Manufacturing. • Verify plant numbers and destruction weights.• Perform and document proper destruction of plant materials.• Perform and document all actions in appropriate Crop Batch Records, and Environmental Records.• Document all material usage accordingly.• Sanitize and maintain tools and equipment.• Assist in training new employees.QUALIFICATIONS• High School Diploma. • Organizational skills are an asset. • Ability to multitask. • Candidate lives within 30-50km radius of facility (preferred).• Has own transportation, or a reliable carpool.• Can withstand prolonged periods of standing or sitting, in varying climactic conditions.• Can physically work/maneuver in tight spaces and from heights.• Can handle fragile and heavy (50lb) materials.• Gets along well in a team atmosphere.• Can work independently. • Scissor lift experience an asset.
