Position Overview:

The Manager, Facility Operations is responsible for the facility and managing the day-to-day operations in accordance with local and state laws, regulations, and standards set by the Company. The Facility Operations Manager is responsible for People, Process, Product and Infrastructure which includes the management and accountability for compliance, P&L, budgets, cash flow and production targets, human resources, repairs and maintenance, health and safety and security. This includes leading all cultivation, manufacturing and production agents, including schedules, training, policy and procedure updates, industry news, and product information as well as lead procurement, waste disposal and inventory management activities. The position must maintain strong partnerships with corporate leaders of Infrastructure, Horticulture, Manufacturing and Compliance. The Cultivation and Manufacturing Facility is a busy operation and therefore the ability to organize, prioritize and delegate tasks is a key requirement. The Facility Operations Manager will need to be able to lead teams, plan, organize and anticipate requirements well in advance to ensure smooth business operations.

Major Areas of Responsibility include:

This position manages functional operating units such as Horticulture and Cultivation, Inventory Control and Manufacturing Production which may include Extraction, Pharmaceutical Production and Commercial Kitchen operations. The Facility Operations Manager has responsibility for all staff in the facility and acts as a liaison externally between the Cultivation and Dispensing Facilities and the local community, including law enforcement.

• Maintain a highly focused, diligent, lean operational culture dedicated to Columbia Care's established mission objectives.

• Ensure compliance with all State and local laws, rules and regulations governing the local medical marijuana program, and other regulations such as OSHA, HIPAA, NFPA and others.

• Oversee staff training and education to ensure that SOPs, Health and Safety, and good agricultural and manufacturing practices are followed.

• Manage security of the facility in partnership with corporate VP, Security. This includes implementing and maintaining security systems for tracking, record keeping, record retention and surveillance related to all product at every stage of, storage, delivery, transporting, and distribution.

• General facility repairs and maintenance and overseeing minor Capex projects.

• Work with Cultivation and Manufacturing teams to establish protocols to ensure the facility can maintain efficient production throughput and establish and implement procedures focused on increasing yields and finished goods production while reducing costs and increasing quality within the approved SOP framework.

• Establish and meet daily/weekly production requirements and KPI's.

• Work with department leads/supervisors in maintaining GMP audit-readiness.

• Ensure Just-In-Time inventory management is maintained as it pertains to the production of finished goods, raw materials and other inventory items as required.

• Work with Quality Management to ensure vendor relationships are maintained and able to support cultivation, manufacturing and production needs.

• Assist state and local government officials and law enforcement with inventory, sales and compliance audits.

• Oversee and manage the tracking of all inventory in seed to sale software system and liaise with the accounting department to maintain, with the administrative, flower, and post-harvest staffs, control of all inventory (plants, in-process products, and final products) in the facility.

Minimum Qualifications (Skills, Knowledge & Abilities):

• All applicants must be at least 21 years of age.

• Bachelor's degree, preferably in Facility Management, Engineering, Agriculture or Business Administration.

• Minimum 8 years' facility management experience with progressively more responsibility; preferably managing commercial agriculture or GMP manufacturing facilities.

• Experience must include hands-on responsibility for the full scope of human resources activities, both operations and staff resource planning.

• Ideal candidate would also have Lean Six Sigma and/or Kaizen experience in managing a highly regulated and production-based facility.

• High level observation skills/ attention to detail.

• Excellent and confident communicator.

• Ability to manage time efficiently and effectively.

• Self-starter and self-motivator.

• Persistent in driving high standards and professionalism.

• Willing to work on a "hands on" basis and contribute positively in a growing company environment.

• Solid software skills – MS Excel, Word, Outlook, Inventory Tracking.

Recognizing that we operate in a burgeoning industry, you see the immense value in our retail locations as billboards for the brand and take pride in improving all aspects of the store to ensure the store’s success within the recreational cannabis landscape.</p><p><b>Responsibilities</b></p><ul><li>Partner with the Store Manager to drive sales and brand awareness</li><li>Support with overseeing the store architecture and delegating duties accordingly</li><li>Support the Store Manager to ensure staff are engaged and decrease turnover</li><li>Assist in hiring and building strong internal pipelines through coaching</li><li>Deliver exceptional customer service and lead by example</li><li>Support in managing all in-store product and merchandise</li><li>Offer solutions to the Store Manager to build a strong business and culture</li><li>Seize opportunities to drive results and ensure operational excellence</li><li>Train and develop your team of retail sales staff; ensure staff are educated on all products</li><li>Build and cultivate lasting customer relationships and enable all staff members to do the same</li><li>Demonstrate strong time management and organization skills to keep priorities in focus</li><li>Effectively communicate needs and ideas to upper management in order to elevate the business</li><li>Meet sales targets and ensure the business achieves profitability by supporting the Store Manager in controlling costs (labour, supplies, inventory etc.)</li><li>Create relationships with local businesses and participate in community events</li><li>Stay up-to-date (and ensure staff are up to date as well) with product knowledge, company information, new launches, campaigns and promotions</li><li>Enforce all company policies and programs, ensuring compliance</li><li>Adhere to all legislative requirements of cannabis retailers, including federal, provincial and municipal legislation</li></ul><p><b>Qualifications</b></p><ul><li>Minimum 3-5 years in retail management</li><li>Resourceful, creative and solution-oriented</li><li>Ability to plan, prioritize and organize</li><li>A leader with a proven ability to train others and retain talent</li><li>Ability to analyze sales reports, identify business trends, and react quickly to the needs of the business</li><li>Strong floor leadership and coaching skills to develop and motivate a sales team</li><li>Proven ability to drive positive customer experiences that build loyalty and deliver measurable results</li><li>Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment</li><li>Industry awareness and strong business acumen</li><li>Strong verbal and written communication skills and excellent organizational skills</li><li>You are passionate about cannabis and are excited to bring it to market for recreational purposes</li><li>You are open to feedback and coaching</li><li>You demonstrate high levels of integrity and personal responsibility</li><li>You are trustworthy and customer-oriented</li><li>Bonus points if you’ve worked in a regulated environment before</li></ul><p><b>Requirements</b></p><ul><li>Minimum age 19 years old or as specified by provincial government</li><li>Must be flexible with hours of work and be comfortable with ever changing duties</li><li>Can Sell certification required</li><li>Criminal background check required</li></ul><p><b>2161907 Alberta Ltd.
