Job Title: Harvest Manager

Department: Cultivation

Reports to Director of Cultivation

Role Summary:

The Harvest Manager will manage harvest, drying, curing, and trimming of a production scale medical cannabis facility. This individual will work with the site managers, production planner, and team leads on all workflows pertaining to these tasks.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage Harvest, Dry, Cure, and Trim Teams, Including Hiring, Scheduling, and Performance reviews.
  • Manage all steps in the processes of Harvest, drying, curing, and trimming.
  • Maintain compliance and medicated inventory using a state mandated, centralized tracking system.
  • Ensure all product is accounted for according to company policy and procedures.
  • Prioritize and manage dry rooms based on harvest dates to ensure flow of fresh product while minimizing old inventory.
  • Work with production planner(s) to allocate production appropriately.
  • Adapt processes to various strains, styles, and types of cannabis, and make quality control decisions and adjustments, as necessary.
  • Ensure production allocation meets demand.
  • Ensuring the grow is clean and informing management of issues that exist.
  • Assist in maintaining appropriate supply levels.
  • Report back to Director of Cultivation on all findings, including ongoing metric tracking and trends.
  • Make suggestions to increase the health and function of the Post-harvest workflows and facilities.
  • Provide input on Standard Operating Procedures for the Post Harvest workflows and update as needed.
  • Create necessary documents.
  • All other duties as assigned.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

- Strong knowledge and understanding of cannabis handling including drying, curing, and trimming.

- Knowledge and understanding of local and state regulations, with an emphasis on continual learning and sharing knowledge with the team.

- Possess the skills and knowledge to identify potential problems with a plant or the product being processed and the willingness to share with management and grow staff.

- Show self-motivation, innovation, and the ability to work well with all members of his/her staff and the company, as well as with his/her direct supervisor.

- Demonstrate excellent organizational capabilities, as well as strong computer skills to accurately input and manage a centralized cannabis tracking system.

- Have superior time management skills driving efficiency and productivity, and meeting goals while consistently producing high quality finished product.

ADDITIONAL MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
  • Effective time-management and ability to multi-task
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing, and challenging environment.
  • Knowledge of cannabis cultivation
  • Demonstrated ability to manage through change and challenge the status quo.
  • Strong consultative and partnership skills
  • MS Office and email proficiency
  • Minimum of 1 year of industry experience
  • Management experience required

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be able to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of 50 lbs. to a minimum height of 5 feet and able to push, pull, move, and/or carry such weight a minimum distance of 50 feet, with or without mechanical assistance.
  • Must be able to work seated/standing as appropriate at workstations for extended periods of time, maintain body equilibrium while climbing ladders, stairways, stopping, kneeling, crouching, and reaching, and use hands/fingers to hold, grasp, turn, pick, pinch frequently/constantly to complete tasks.
  • Must be able to handle organic matter daily, able to wear PPE as appropriate (eye, face, hand, arm, head, foot, body, fall protection), and able to be exposed to hot, cold, wet, humid, or windy conditions while wearing PPE (95 degrees or greater)
  • Must have visual acuity with/without job aids to perform activities such as reading, viewing a computer terminal, visual inspection involving small parts/details. Clarity of vision at 20 ft or more in day and night/dark conditions
  • Must be able to speak and communicate verbally at conversation levels with co-workers, vendors, etc. (Moderate noise)

WORK SCHEDULE:

  • 40+ hours weekly with flexible hours depending on department needs. Must be available to work occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays.
