DB Labs, LLC, dba Kaycha Labs, was the first cannabis testing lab to open in Nevada. DB Labs was the first ISO/IEC 17025:2005 accredited laboratory in Las Vegas and recently updated to the ISO/IEC 17025:2017 standard. DB Labs provides a safer product for consumers and helps ensure cultivators and producers against recalls and lawsuits by following a very stringent Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) program and having over 50 years of combined laboratory technical experience. DB Labs is confident that we assure the scientific reliability of all laboratory data that comply with the policies and procedures/standards set forth by the ISO/IEC 17025:2017. This program is designed to monitor equipment, personnel, duties, methods, internal procedures and documentation to ensure that the compliance of the laboratory is met.

The laboratory currently runs two shifts, which may be subject to change based on business needs. The first shift will run from 6:00am - 2:30pm. The second shift runs from 1:00pm-9:30pm. Employees must be flexible to work weekend shifts when needed. Please note that shifts are subject to change as business needs change.

DB Labs, dba Kaycha Labs, is currently searching for an energetic, dedicated laboratory chemist to join our workforce.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Supervision of laboratory functions to ensure timely completion and reporting.
  • Ability to work within ISO17025:2017 certified processes.
  • Responsible for sample receiving, including login data entry.
  • Execute sample preparation including accurately weighing samples, microbial plating, dilutions, pipetting using the appropriate methods and applicable QA/QC requirements.
  • Data interpretation (HPLC, GC, ICP, microbiology) and data entry.
  • Generation and review of reports.
  • Maintain the laboratory with regard to good housekeeping, equipment, glassware care, safety and inventory control.
  • Responsible for sample and waste disposal.

Education & Experience:

  • Minimum Bachelors of Science degree in Chemistry required.
  • Practical experience in ICP/MS including maintenance, troubleshooting, and method development desired.
  • Practical experience in HPLC, LC/MS, GC, GC/MS, including method development and instrument maintenance strongly desired
  • Ability to guide and mentor technicians to ensure work is completed in a timely manner.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office including Excel and Word.
  • Ability to multi-task to complete multiple analyses in each shift.

Skills, Abilities and Competencies:

  • Ability to maintain an incredibly high degree of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong agility, engagement, and flexibility in an ever-changing environment.
  • Working knowledge of logging, organizing, and analyzing data.

The Extraction Technician completes tasks assigned by the Extraction Manager to monitor and maintain the organization, cleanliness and efficiency of production areas as well as to maintain quality control measures. This position is responsible for assisting with lab production, which includes but is not limited to distillation, extraction, winterization, production of cannabis infused products, compliance requirements, and workplace safety.</p><p>• Familiarity with basic scientific principles and laboratory experience. Must be able to follow written directions and maintain a laboratory notebook.</p><p>• Must follow all applicable policies, procedures and guidelines. This includes the safe and proper operation of any/all applicable machinery, instrumentation, and equipment.</p><p>• Operate laboratory instruments, make observations, calculate and record results.</p><p>• Understand and meet daily goals.</p><p>• Work as part of a team to meet production schedules.</p><p>• Employee may also be responsible for monitoring production lines and collecting samples for analysis.</p><p>• Follow SOP and standard analytical procedures to meet Good Laboratory Practices and Good Manufacturing Practices compliance.</p><p>• Records data in lab notebooks, computer databases, and test reports.</p><p>Required Skills</p><p>• Good communication skills, verbal and written, with co-workers and management.</p><p>• Practice good housekeeping habits throughout the facility with focus and personal contributions towards a clean and organized assigned work area at the end of the assigned shift.</p><p>• Capable of working with hazardous chemicals and is able to identify and report unsafe equipment, conditions and practices so that they may be corrected prior to an incident.</p><p>• Flexibility and the ability to shift work schedule according to production needs.</p><p>• Must be and remain compliant with all legal or company regulations for working in the industry.</p><p>• Must be a minimum of 21 years of age.</p><p>• Must be approved to receive an Agent badge.</p><p>• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to perform grasping, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.</p><p>• Physical demands – May be required to stand and/or walk for extended periods of time.
