JOB SUMMARY

The Security Agent at Ascends primary responsibilities are but are not limited to the following. Retail cannabis sales are highly regulated and must operate in a safe and secure environment in full compliance with all regulatory requirements. In addition to the criteria listed below, security agents are required to pass a comprehensive background check to qualify for a Registered Marijuana Establishment Agent Card issued by the Cannabis Control Commission. Industry-specific and company policy training will be provided. This position currently reports to the General Manager when hired.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Maintain internal and perimeter security

• Inspect and patrol premises regularly

• Monitor all access and egress points on the property

• Authorize entrance of people and vehicles

• Monitor surveillance cameras

• Respond to alarms in a timely and effective manner

• Be the Emergency Response point of contact for local police, fire, EMT

• Provide assistance to people in need

• Submit daily surveillance reports

• Report any suspicious behaviors or activities and submit reports regarding

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• A High School Diploma is required. A degree from a two or four-year college or university; or comparable life experience, is strongly preferred

• At least 2 years of experience in security or a similar role

• Must be at least 21 years of age

• Must pass any and all required background checks

• Must be and remain compliant with any and all regulatory requirements for working in the cannabis industry

• Must be able to obtain and retain a Registered Agent Card issued by the MA Cannabis Control Commission

• Must have great interpersonal skills and be able to communicate clearly and calmly

• Must have excellent observation and report writing skills

• Must be a good critical thinker with strong problem-solving skills

• Must be able to work independently and as part of team

• Must have good time management skills

• Experience with surveillance systems preferred

• Training in First Aid and/or CPR certification preferred

• Must have excellent organization and time management skills

• Must be focused and pay close attention to detail

• Must be able to internalize training and follow instructions consistently

• Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively

• Must be able to work effectively as part of a team and grow with the company.

• Must be able to lift, carry, and balance up to 30 pounds. This job function may include walking or standing for extended periods of time, as well as stooping, bending over, and/or crouching.

• This role requires the ability to stand and sit for long periods of time.

Responsibilities: What You'll DoParticipate in the planning, preparation, and execution of CCA activities with the VP of cultivation, Director of Cultivation, Crop Production Manager, and Cultivation Supervisor to assess and complete projects related to all Central Coast Agricultural farming.Inspect the plants regularly and identify horticultural tasks that need to be performed. Prioritize horticultural tasks, develop work schedules, and coordinate their implementation with senior staff.Assist with monitoring and tracking soil and plant health through tissue and soil tests, working closely with vendors and their agronomists on long term soil viability plans.Assist the Crop Production Manager and Cultivation Supervisor in monitoring soil moisture probes and field walks to determine water needs for the cannabis plants.Be ready to assist in the irrigation and fertigation of the cannabis plants when asked to do so by senior staff.Must be able to keep accurate records of total amounts of water and nutrients applied to a specific range and record that information in a Nitrogen use Log.Train and supervise staff in all aspects of plant maintenance and development including soil preparation, planting &amp; transplanting, mulching, watering, weeding, fertilizing, pruning, propagating, raking, tree &amp; brush cutting, chipping, and the proper use of shovels, trowels, fan rakes, grading rakes, spades, digging forks, pickaxes, brooms, hand shears, hand saws, loppers, pole pruners &amp; pole saws, wheelbarrows, fertilizer spreaders, garden carts, ladders, and other hand tools.Track hours of CCA staff as well as any temporary staff assigned to cultivation and work directly with the cultivation supervisors, payroll and HR departments regarding staffing needs and payroll tracking.Train and supervise staff in the proficient operation of, garden utility vehicles, tractors, pickup/dump trucks, chainsaws, chippers, and other power equipment following CCA safety protocols and regulatory standards.Provide hands-on assistance with the completion of work tasks, when needed while tracking and documenting field activities as directed by supervisors or management. Evaluate cultivation needs and supplies inventory. Work with the purchasing department on inventory replenishment of BOM needs.Monitor gardens and plant collections for pests and diseases. Report pest and disease problems to the IPM department.Create a harmonious and productive work environment. Addresses discipline issues and report them properly to senior staff and HR. Contributes to a work environment that encourages knowledge of, respect for, and development of skills to engage with those of other cultures or backgrounds.Follows CCA policies, Procedures, Standards, and Rules &amp; Regulations, and ensures that subordinate employees perform their duties safely and efficiently.Ensures that established safety guidelines are followed and complies with O.S.H.A. and Right-to-Know standards.Monitors assigns and assists with carrying out standard operational procedures, as required, including working overtime for harvest and transplanting.Advises senior staff of forecasted equipment and supply needs.Remains competent and current through self-directed professional development courses and attending training and/or courses as required.Supports the overall success of Central Coast Agriculture by performing all other duties as assigned.Attach farm implements such as plows, discs, sprayers, or bedders to tractors, using bolts and hand tools.Drive company vehicles in a safe manner to haul equipment, supplies, tools, or farmworkers.
