Job Description

Urbn Leaf, the new standard in cannabis dispensaries, is looking for a Payroll Coordinator to add to our team! The Payroll Coordinator is responsible for maintaining and processing time records and payroll data for multiple facilities. The Payroll Coordinator will ensure accurate updates to payroll records by entering changes in exemptions, insurance coverage and job title and department/division transfers. The individual will be accountable for responding in a timely and accurate manner to requests for information and questions regarding payroll processing and paycheck accuracy. The Payroll Coordinator will also handle filing, scanning and updates to employee information and payroll documentation.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Collecting and verifying timekeeping information for all employees

• Calculating pay according to hours worked incorporating leaves and overtime

• Updating payroll records and documentation by entering changes in pay rates, employee status changes, exemptions, insurance coverage, savings deductions, job title and department/division transfers, and Direct deposit enrollments

• Maintaining payroll information by collecting, calculating, verifying and entering data in accordance with leaves, labor laws and company policies

• Answering questions and requests regarding payroll information

• Maintaining employee confidence and confidentiality of payroll information

• Preparing and submitting reports with payroll information to supervisor

• Comply with Federal/State garnishments and apply withholdings appropriately

• Supporting Payroll Manager in analyzing payroll data as requested

• Determines payroll liabilities by calculating employee federal and state income and social security taxes and employer's social security, unemployment, and workers compensation payments

• Resolves payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information

• Provides payroll information by answering questions and requests

• Maintains payroll operations by following policies and procedures; reporting needed changes

• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 4 years of experience processing payroll

• Understanding of payroll laws

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel

• Proficient with math skills

Must be motivated, hard-working, and passionate. This position requires someone who is a strong leader with the ability to handle multiple tasks and responsibilities.
