Freestate Wellness is a licensed operator of cannabis cultivation, processing, retail facilities in Maryland, and we are looking to add passionate, exceptional talent to our Jessup cultivation and processing facility!

Job Summary:

The Packaging Manager is responsible for overseeing the packaging department in assembling, packaging, and preparing our products for delivery to licensed dispensaries.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Oversee assembly and packaging of products and managing personnel.

• Delegate responsibilities and train personnel on standard operating procedure (SOP).

• Weigh, assemble, and package products according to SOP.

• Restock supplies as needed throughout the shift.

• Clean, sanitize, and organize equipment and workspace.

• Inspect finished products for quality and adherence to industry and company specifications.

• Inspect and remove defective products and packaging materials.

• Ensure that production schedules are met with deadlines.

• Coordinate operations and schedules of personnel.

• Interview, hire, and train personnel.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.

• Previous management/supervisory experience in a regulated field that adheres to health and safety policies and procedures required.

• Must be able to follow SOP.

• Must be able to stand for at least 6 hours per day and lift up to 25 pounds.

• Must be authorized to work in the United States.

• Must be 21 years of age or older.

• Must be able to successfully register with the state’s cannabis commission as an agent.

• Must be able to comply with all laws, regulations, and policies associated with the industry.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 3 year(s) of management/supervisory experience preferred.

• Operations or performance improvement skill sets preferred.

• Previous experience in manufacturing, packaging, and/or warehouse is a plus.

Physical and Mental Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to remain in a stationary position, move and/or position oneself, communicate, operate and/or prepare, place, position objects, tools, or controls. The employee must occasionally move packages weighing up to 25 lb. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close observation and the ability to adjust focus.
