ROLE OVERVIEW:

The Company is seeking an experienced Packaging Manager who loves everything packaging. You will be responsible for managing the full lifecycle of packaging. This role will be reporting to the VP of Manufacturing. You will work closely with Facility Operations and Logistics. Our ideal candidate is organized, proactive and loves collaborating cross-functionally to deliver quality packaging for our quality products.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage every stage of the packaging process
  • Managing performance of employees
  • Provide leadership and guidance on assembly line
  • Maintain accurate specifications for packaging materials and SOPs
  • Establishes work procedures, prepares work schedules, and expedites workflow.
  • Assigns duties and examines work for exactness, neatness, and conformance to policies and procedures.
  • Studies and standardizes procedures to improve efficiency of team
  • Streamline workflow, maximize efficiencies, and drive cost saving initiatives as it relates to packaging
  • Keen understanding of cannabis packaging compliance rules and regulations across multiple states
  • Work with legal to ensure compliance prior to production
  • Develop and maintain full packaging line-sheet on a day-to-day basis
  • Establish BOMs, creating SKUs and component codes
  • Assemble final kitting decks for facilities, ensuring clear instructions for assembly, standardization and maintenance of finished goods specifications
  • Create, maintain, and optimize packaging forecasts that coincide with production and sales targets, while optimizing freight costs and ensuring proper stock levels across all product categories
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must possess excellent attention to detail, problem solving and follow-up with a strong sense of urgency and time management skills
  • Comprehension of general manufacturing concepts related to efficiency, quality, safety, workflow and mechanics.
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Lean manufacturing and ERP experience
  • Proactive mindset to anticipate issues and provide solutions prior to production
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and Google Sheets
  • Exceptional organizational skillset with an incredible eye for detail
  • Ability to work collaboratively and also independently
  • Knowledgeable of sustainable packaging options and material recycling guidelines
  • Expert knowledge of different packaging types

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $80,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year

The Facility Operations Manager is responsible for People, Process, Product and Infrastructure which includes the management and accountability for compliance, P&amp;L, budgets, cash flow and production targets, human resources, repairs and maintenance, health and safety and security. This includes leading all cultivation, manufacturing and production agents, including schedules, training, policy and procedure updates, industry news, and product information as well as lead procurement, waste disposal and inventory management activities. The position must maintain strong partnerships with corporate leaders of Infrastructure, Horticulture, Manufacturing and Compliance. The Cultivation and Manufacturing Facility is a busy operation and therefore the ability to organize, prioritize and delegate tasks is a key requirement. The Facility Operations Manager will need to be able to lead teams, plan, organize and anticipate requirements well in advance to ensure smooth business operations.</p><p><b>Major Areas of Responsibility include:</b></p><p>This position manages functional operating units such as Horticulture and Cultivation, Inventory Control and Manufacturing Production which may include Extraction, Pharmaceutical Production and Commercial Kitchen operations. The Facility Operations Manager has responsibility for all staff in the facility and acts as a liaison externally between the Cultivation and Dispensing Facilities and the local community, including law enforcement.</p><p>· Maintain a highly focused, diligent, lean operational culture dedicated to Columbia Care’s established mission objectives.</p><p>· Ensure compliance with all State and local laws, rules and regulations governing the local medical marijuana program, and other regulations such as OSHA, HIPAA, NFPA and others.</p><p>· Oversee staff training and education to ensure that SOPs, Health and Safety, and good agricultural and manufacturing practices are followed.</p><p>· Manage security of the facility in partnership with corporate VP, Security.
