Production Laboratory Technician

The Production Laboratory Technician will report to the Senior Manager – Extraction and R&D or other designated management as required. You will be responsible for producing a finished product that is derived from Cannabis, for sale under the Cannabis Act.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:

Extract and refine target compounds from cannabis materials as per prescribed procedures;

Formulate cannabis extracts for commercial use using qualitative and quantitative data in conjunction with standard operating procedures;

Ensure starting materials and finished products are in compliance with current Cannabis Regulations;

Upkeep electronic and physical inventory records of all cannabis and non-cannabis materials used and produced within the department;

Review and update standard operating procedures and documentation forms as required;

Actively keep up to date with current advancements in research, equipment and procedures within the cannabis industry relevant to the department;

Must be able to lift 30 pounds;

Coordinate and assist with other departments to fulfill interdepartmental objectives as needed; and

Additional duties and responsibilities may be added more modified as required throughout the course of your employment.

WHAT YOU BRING:

Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry or Biochemistry;

1-2 years of previous or lab experience; extraction lab experience strongly preferred; and

Experience with supercritical or C02 extraction considered a strong asset.

If you've previously worked in cannabis extraction and processing - even better!</p><p><b>Responsibilities</b></p><p>• Prepare laboratory equipment and cannabis plant materials for extraction</p><p>• Operate intricate extraction equipment in accordance with Green Thumb SOPs</p><p>• Process cannabis concentrates and extracts</p><p>• Deliver on production goals, while focused on safety and quality</p><p>• Produce product per recipes and SOP's, maintaining high quality standards</p><p>• Clean and maintain extraction equipment and laboratory facility</p><p>• Store supplies and equipment, dispose of waste according to guidelines, and keep laboratory working areas sanitary and safe</p><p>• Wash and sterilize laboratory glassware</p><p>• Employee may also be responsible for monitoring production line and collecting samples for analysis.</p><p>• Follow SOP and standard analytical procedures to meet Good Laboratory Practices and Good Manufacturing Practices compliance</p><p>• Record data in lab notebooks, computer databases, and test reports</p><p><b>Qualifications</b></p><p>• Associate or 4-year degree with relevant college courses in biology, chemistry, or physics required</p><p>• Prior production laboratory or manufacturing experience preferred</p><p>• Prior experience working in regulated environments preferred</p><p>• Prior extraction experience desirable, prior cannabis extraction experience highly desirable</p><p>• Basic math skills</p><p>• Familiarity with OSHA guidelines for dealing with hazardous chemicals</p><p>• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all employees</p><p>• Highly motivated, self-directed, innovative and able to work independently or among teams with keen judgement, common sense and resourcefulness</p><p>• Adapts and thrives in a demanding, fast-paced environment</p><p>• Possesses a high level of critical thinking</p><p>• Operates with a high level of professionalism and integrity, including dealing with confidential information</p><p>• Must understand and comply with the rules, regulations, policies, and procedures of Green Thumb</p><p>• Must have a solid understanding of the Cannabis laws, rules and regulations and passion to further their understanding and knowledge of the industry and the laws</p><p>Additional Requirements</p><p>• Must pass any and all required background checks.</p><p>• Must be and remain compliant with all legal or company regulations for working in the industry.</p><p>• Must be a minimum of 21 years of age.</p><p>• Must be approved to receive an Agent badge.</p><p>Working Conditions</p><p>• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to perform grasping, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.</p><p>• Physical demands - May be required to stand and/or walk for extended periods of time.
