POSITION TITLE: Sales Manager - Cannabis

REPORTS TO TITLE: Director of Operations

DEPARTMENT: Sales

DATE CREATED: July 23, 2021

POSITION PURPOSE

The Stash Ventures Sales Manager reports directly to the Director of Operations. They are primarily responsible for building relationships with individuals and companies in the community in order to sell the company’s cannabis products (flower and packaged goods) in order to reach internal sales goals. This position will also play a large role in developing and implementing sales strategies.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Selling through inventory as (or before) it becomes available
  • Travel within territory to meet prospective customers and clients
  • Collaborating with the internal marketing team to develop initial go to market strategies, brand identity, and brand awareness
  • Creating awareness and demand for the company products
  • Identifying potential sales opportunities and effectively communicating benefits and opportunities available to meet needs and interests
  • Maintaining communications with internal personnel to ensure efforts are in line with objectives
  • Identifying prospective customers by using business directories, following leads from existing customers, participating in organizations and clubs, and attending trade shows and conferences
  • Calling on prospective customers, providing detailed product information, and quoting appropriate customer prices
  • Meeting with potential and current customers to ensure their needs are met and educating them on new products and promotions available
  • Setting up and attending “vendor days” with retailers to educate customers and employees on the advantages of our product
  • Developing sales forecasts and goals
  • Maintaining all quote documentation with accurate pricing and configurations
  • Monitoring market conditions, product innovations, and competitors' products, prices, and sales
  • Negotiating details of contracts and payments
  • Consulting with clients after sales or contract signings to resolve problems and to provide ongoing support
  • Training Stash Ventures retail employees on product knowledge of our internal product and selling techniques
  • Performing other duties as assigned

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field is preferred.
  • Knowledge of various relationship sales techniques
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships
  • Flexible, creative, and able to work in a non-structured developing work environment

  • Excellent oral/written communication skills, including well-developed presentation skills

This role will be the main point of contact for Territory Managers and Outside Sales Representatives and will drive their financial and strategic initiative goals.</p><p>Primary Responsibilities</p><p>• Develops, implements and regularly evaluates policies and procedures, including an official management training program, production processes, quality assurance/control, account management and customer service, new clients onboarding, inventory and processing protocols, and invoicing.</p><p>• Responsible for coordinating with CEO to develop and implement sales initiatives and strategies.</p><p>• Coordinates strategic planning activities with the CEO to align efforts, support the organization’s vision, avoid conflict of interests, and guarantee the success of sales efforts.</p><p>• Recruits, trains on and enforces Sales SOPs with Territory Managers and Sales Team.</p><p>• Supports the Territory Sales Team across multiple functions including meeting preparation, data generation and analysis, project planning, and communication of account-level initiatives.</p><p>• Generates templates for and manages communication of sales reports, sales forecasting, budgeting, planning, and process optimization for the Territory Managers.</p><p>• Provides Sales Team with weekly, quarterly and annual objectives and targets.</p><p>• Monitors the consumer and competitive environment and conducts analyses on key markets and emerging industry trends.</p><p><b>Other Duties</b></p><p>Please note this job description is not designated to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
