Ideal candidate is experienced in agricultural operations and ready to operate multiple cultivation operations on a commercial scale.</p><p><b>Accountabilities:</b></p><ul><li>Oversee the growing operations for multiple locations</li><li>Develops and manages the annual departmental operating budgets and evaluates programs and projects to ensure maximum cost effectiveness</li><li>Create and manage schedules, cultivation processes, inventory, and vendor relations</li><li>Establish systems and chain of command to collect, analyze, and maintain data on cultivation operations to aid strategic planning and operational decisions</li><li>Serve as a role model and resource for staff with regards to products and services, policies and procedures, industry news, and changes in regulations</li><li>Consistently report cultivation status, verbally and in written form to all executive leadership/ownership</li><li>Attend weekly meetings to communicate status and directives</li><li>Frequent travel for facility inspections, media events, and other meetings as needed</li><li>Participates in the development, review and implementation of procedures to ensure the plants are consistently maintained at the highest possible standards</li><li>Research new techniques and insight and dedicated to expand knowledge</li><li>Will work closely with other managers and directors in order to execute the company's overall strategy</li><li>Provides ongoing oversight of plant care</li><li>Manages all contract services for areas of responsibility.</li><li>Oversees the Integrated Pest Management program.</li><li>Ensures that best horticultural practices are applied, provides staff and intern training regularly.</li><li>Serves as a member of Leadership Team and acts as a positive leader for the organization.</li><li>Supports peers and staff in achieving overall institutional goals.</li><li>Serves as an external representative of the organization, a national leader in horticulture and as a liaison with key organizations to support achieving institutional goals</li></ul><p><b>Principle Duties and Responsibilities:</b></p><ul><li>Ensure optimal plant health while maximizing yields by maintaining proper pruning, plant training, and trimming processes and procedures</li><li>Ensure all the tasks are performed in the operation, including cloning, transplanting, feeding plants, defoliation, trellising, topping, flushing, foliar and preventative sprays, trimming, waste disposal and inventory management</li><li>Develop and execute preventative, naturally-integrated pest/disease control, maintenance and elimination of all types of mold, powdery mildew, spider mites, root aphids, fungus gnats, etc. with STRICT adherence to all state compliance and environmental safety regulation</li><li>Oversee the creation and implementation of all cultivation operations, plans, policies, and procedures (SOP) regarding propagation, plant care and IPM</li><li>Create and implement best practices for plant health and care - paying close attention to different cultivars' specific needs</li><li>Select, appoint, and train staff on the operation of the cultivation facility's automated tools, such as grow room temperature controls, lighting, watering systems and other infrastructure</li></ul><p></p><p><b>Skills/Competencies required:</b></p><ul><li>Knowledge of large-scale commercial plant cultivation, including but not limited to, nutrient requirements, growing media, light requirements, temperature control, and airflow.</li><li>Understand, adopt and model the behavior outlined in the Red White and Bloom Core Values</li><li>Experience with compliance systems.</li><li>Strong attention to detail, especially when dealing with plant health and data-tracking.</li><li>Demonstrate strong communication skills.</li><li>Maintain a positive working relationship with office and production employees.</li><li>Good attention to detail and ability to produce work quickly, accurately, and independently.</li><li>Work collaboratively in a team environment to accomplish company objectives with either direct or indirect authority.</li><li>Effectively lead, encourage and motivate teams of employees to successfully complete critical and challenging projects.</li><li>Excellent prioritization, planning, organization, time management and multitasking skills.</li><li>Must be proficient in Microsoft Office products and other related technical software programs.</li></ul><p></p><p><b>Education, Qualifications and Experience:</b></p><ul><li>Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in plant biology, physiology, biological sciences, or agricultural sciences, horticulture or agriculture management</li><li>Expert knowledge of plant diseases, insects and fungi, as well as plant treatment options</li><li>At least 5 years commercial grow experience</li><li>Knowledge of large-scale commercial plant cultivation including nutrient requirements, mediums, light requirements, temperature control, airflow, etc.</li><li>Experience managing a large-scale cultivation operation that has a clean history of compliance</li><li>In-depth working knowledge of cannabis plant symptom diagnosis, causality and remedy applications</li><li>Advanced knowledge of hemp or cannabis plants and genetics</li><li>Must have accountability, proactive behavior and strong attention to detail</li><li>Demonstrated personnel management experience</li><li>Experience in a position requiring critical-thinking, problem-solving, planning and assessment</li><li>Knowledge of cannabis policy and law</li><li>Must live in central Florida or be willing to relocate.
