We’re looking for an exceptional Brand Manager to help execute the strategic vision of our category-leading brands, including all marketing communications and the development of a new product pipeline. They will also work collaboratively with our Commercial, Trade and Operations teams to bring these plans to life.
They must use sound strategy to solve big, ambiguous problems and feel comfortable leading across complex organizational structures. Applicants must be willing to roll up their sleeves (we’ll be right there alongside ya!), showcasing a results-oriented mindset and possess a strong track record of success in creating impactful, consumer-first campaigns and products.
Responsibilities
  • Lead the annual strategic planning process, aligning internal and external key stakeholders on the future vision, brand foundations and key strategies
  • Take a consumer-first approach to leading all marketing communications. Liaise with external agencies to develop award-winning work: breakthrough creative and innovative media campaigns
  • Work collaboratively with key internal stakeholders including trade, commercial, retail to ensure seamless integration of all marketing communication.
  • Own brand guidelines and lead all positioning work for defined brands with internal cross-functional teams and agency partners.
  • Flawlessly execute NPD by closely collaborating with the NPD team to develop a highly innovative product pipeline, including research and product design, through building a relationship with R&D and external partners and with the commercial team to successfully sell in new products, achieve targets and execute and track launch plan
  • Business Management: Track performance against shipment (Gross Rev AOP) and consumption targets ($Vol & $Shr), quarterback cross-functional team planning on gap closing / growth ideas to over deliver on targets, analyze category market data to determine risks and opportunities growth (e.g. leverage portfolio review as a forum)
  • Budget Management: Ensure A&P budget is spent with financial stewardship
  • Own the brand social channels including strategy, execution, and community management
  • Be the voice of the consumer by keeping a pulse on market trends, consumer markets, and competitors to recognize challenges and opportunities
  • Manage Advertising and Promotion budget including allocation, working closely with finance to manage report and ongoing optimization
  • Facilitate stakeholder collaboration amongst various cross-functional departments such as Insights, Innovation, Operations, Strategy, Sales, and Supply Chain and drive alignment of the brand vision
  • Be an infectious brand champion both internally and externally delivering dynamic presentations in a logical and well-thought-out manner
  • Be an active contributor to brand team and company culture
  • Proactively seek out opportunities to optimize company process to drive efficiencies for the broader brand team
Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent 4 years experience required
    • Brand management or brand activation experience
    • Working knowledge of business management including a P&L/financial acumen
    • A track record of translating data into actionable insights
  • 5-7 years of work experience in a related field
  • Cannabis industry experience a plus
  • Has shown a propensity for creativity (whether it be problem solving or artistically)
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and complete multiple projects on time and within budget
  • Business Acumen (budget management, data analysis, P&L management)
  • Strong stakeholder management skills (e.g. Agency) and teamwork, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to collaborate and influence effectively with multiple levels of a matrixed cross-functional organization
  • Resilient and thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment, working on multiple and competing projects simultaneously with a sense of urgency and thoughtfulness

Located in Saskatoon, SK this position will report directly to the HR Manager. The HR Business Partner is a driven, highly organized, outstanding communicator with the ability to multitask when priorities change. The successful candidate possesses excellent administrative and computer skills. This role includes working collaboratively with the HR team as well as client groups to ultimately support and coordinate human resources functions and initiatives.</p><p>Our ideal candidate is professional, business focused, calm under pressure, a multi-tasker, sees all sides of the situation and is comfortable asking the right questions to help support the business needs. While abiding by Company policies, International Financial Reporting Standards (“IFRS”) and following the Cannabis Act and its Regulations; the Finance Reporting Manager will work with the accounting and finance team to achieve financial performance objectives, meeting budgetary and filing requirements, and ultimately improving AgMedica’s long-term financial position.</p><p><b>Major Duties:</b></p><p>• Adhere to AgMedica’s Standard Operating Procedures (“SOP”) to ensure efficiencies and accuracy in all financial and administrative activities;</p><p>• Carry out corporate accounting functions for the parent Company and / or subsidiary entities;</p><p>• Develop, implement and evaluate corporate financial systems, assist in creating financial strategies that are aligned to overall enterprise direction;</p><p>• Report on the Company’s financial operations and advise on corporate financial planning, structure and accounting operations responsibilities;</p><p>• Coordinate, analyze and report the financial performance, projections and other special projects to Senior Management and Board of Directors as required;</p><p>• Work with VP of Finance and the Accounting and Finance Team to prepare and monitor short and long-term financial forecasts for use with internal executive management and external parties;</p><p>• Prepare and lead audit functions, coordinate activities with external audit firms;</p><p>• Assist in the evaluation of and accounting / consolidation for mergers and acquisitions;</p><p>• Lead in the consolidation of the various entities that roll-up into AgMedica’s consolidated financial reporting package;</p><p>• Lead the preparation and analysis of quarterly and annual financial reporting package to each operating unit of subsidiary corporations, especially their control systems, transaction-processing operations, and policies and procedures;</p><p>• Coordinate and work with Senior Finance team on finance activities across various departments and internationally;</p><p>• Developing strategies, objectives, plans and tactics required to develop, implement and maintain strong governance and internal control effectiveness as it relates to Internal Controls over Financial Reporting (“ICFR”);</p><p>• Participating in the development and monitoring of ICFR for effective risk management, ensuring the implementation and process roll-out achieves its objectives while the results are high quality and valued by the business; [AY3] [KM4]</p><p>• Assist in the development, documentation and testing surrounding Internal Controls to allow the Company’s officers to fulfill their National Instrument 52-109F1 reporting obligations;</p><p>• Working with the business and support areas to identify, document, assess and test internal controls;</p><p>• Monitoring and reporting on the design and operating effectiveness of controls, progress and resolution of control deficiencies relating to ICFR;</p><p>• Recommending changes in a dynamic environment with effectively communication and acting as a change agent to promote, encourage and implement changes;</p><p>• Providing guidance and recommendations on risk management and internal controls to Management on corporate, process re-design and IT modernization initiatives as well as ongoing operations to facilitate a strong internal control environment, optimize controls and adopt best practices;</p><p>• Presenting reports to senior management to assist them in assessing the effectiveness of the ICFR and fulfilling their corporate governance including presentation of financial statements and appropriate analysis of financial results;</p><p>• Utilizing ERP system, deliver accurate financial reporting in an efficient and timely manner;</p><p>• Work with Finance team in developing, implementing and maintaining finance policies and procedures for a wide-ranging set of activities including financial accounting and reporting and other corporate policies;</p><p>• Proficiency in all aspects of corporate accounting and pertinent International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), Canadian Securities Administrators rules and regulations including C-SOX compliance (Bill 198);</p><p>• Ensures compliance with federal, provincial and local legal requirements by researching existing and new legislation, consulting with outside advisors, and filing financial reports. Advises senior management of actions and potential risks;</p><p>• Assist in the preparation of public documents, including interim and annual financial statements, management discussion and analysis (“MD&amp;A”), in addition to the Annual Report and Annual Information Circular;</p><p>• Work with senior management and a diverse cross-functional team. This is an awesome opportunity to get involved in the New York market as it is about to explode Please apply for immediate consideration.</p><p><b>JOB RESPONSIBILTIES:</b></p><p>• Oversee implementation of the communications strategy for campaigns, events, digital marketing, and public relations for both internal and external audiences.</p><p>• Travel to dispensaries throughout the state of New York to manage all marketing for company.</p><p>• Design a marketing plan to expand customer base at an aggressive rate.</p><p>• Develop an outreach program with each dispensary.</p><p>• Develop quarterly goals as they pertain to promotions, sales, and gross margin.</p><p>• Manage social media by developing content to accelerate the companys reputation state-wide and build a solid following on social media.</p><p>• Help to develop a marketing program from external cannabis websites.</p><p>• Manage creative production of online and offline marketing assets, graphic design, collateral, ads, etc.</p><p>• Designing and executing an effective key performance indicator (KPI) program.</p><p>• Responsible for marketing project management such as budgeting, expense tracking and reporting.</p><p>• Analyzing products, service offerings, and approach of key competitors.</p><p>• Maintain compliance with all State MMJ Regulations and company policies and procedures.</p><p>• Work collaboratively with the corporate marketing, sales, and operations teams as well as cultivation and manufacturing teams to ensure best practices are in place to deliver the best possible financial outcome from promotions.</p><p><b>EDUCATION AND REQUIRED SKILLS:</b></p><p>• 5-7 years experience in field marketing with demonstrated success in either cannabis, health, alcohol, or beverage industries.</p><p>• Startup experience preferred.</p><p>• Minimum of 2 years experience supporting wholesale programs.</p><p>• Bachelors degree in Communication and Marketing required.</p><p>• Expert skillset Microsoft Suites and social media platforms.</p><p>COMPENSATION: $90,000 $105,000 with benefits plus bonus</p><p>TRAVEL 75% of the time</p><p>If this sounds like the position you have been waiting for, please apply using the online application - all inquiries are strictly confidential.
