REPORTS TO: Vice President of Marketing

LOCATION: Arizona

SUMMARY:

Item 9 Labs is in search of a Marketing Director who will be in charge of leading our company's efforts and executing strategies based on company goals across all channels of our business. You will be responsible for providing guidance, leadership, and structure to our marketing department by evaluating and developing marketing initiatives, planning and coordinating marketing efforts, communicating the marketing plans to those involved, and building awareness and positioning for the company's brand. You will also be working closely with our sales department to develop strategy that will help maximize profits and market share. The Marketing Director will not only execute in the trenches, but also provide strategic leadership, from a market and product perspective, to our management teams.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsibilities

  • Oversee, lead and maximize marketing department.
  • Maintain clear concise messaging and brand standards across all business platforms and corporate entities.
  • Take responsibility for annual marketing plan, strategy and team.
  • Identify and plan differentiated and impactful marketing strategies/materials for each area of business.
  • Build, manage and coach a high-performing marketing team.
  • Drive the implementation of marketing campaigns that meet business objectives and drive consumer habits.
  • Direct and support market research collection, analysis, and interpretation of market data for short and long-term market forecasts and reports.
  • Maintain brand standards and ensure compliance across all marketing and communications channels.
  • Evaluate and develop the marketing strategy and marketing plan with direction from VP of Marketing.
  • Plan, direct, and coordinate marketing efforts and marketing team KPI's.
  • Build relationships within active markets to maximize our brand reach inside and outside the cannabis space.
  • Work with sales department to develop promotional strategies to maximize profits and market share while balancing consumer satisfaction.
  • Understand and develop budgets and finances, including expenditures, research and development appropriations, return-on-investment and profit loss projections.
  • Develop and manage advertising campaigns.
  • Build brand awareness and positioning daily.
  • Facilitate company conferences, trade shows, and major events.
  • Oversee overall social media marketing strategy, SEO, website and content marketing on all platforms.
  • Align the company around the brand's direction, choices and tactics.

Job Specification

  • Education: Bachelor s degree in marketing, Communications, or related field preferred
  • Experience: Ideally 8+ years in marketing, advertising, promotions, or related consumer-focused field.
  • Proven ability to develop brand and marketing strategies and communicate recommendations to executives.
  • Experience in identifying target audiences and devising effective campaigns.
  • Excellent understanding of the full marketing mix.
  • Strong analytical skills partnered with a creative mind.
  • Outstanding communications and leadership skills.
  • Understanding of Cannabis Industry, Public Markets, and Franchising preferred but nit mandatory.
  • Accountable, detail oriented, self-starter with the ability to execute and finish tasks in an organized and complete manner.
  • Proven ability to organize and manage cross-functional projects with several key stakeholders
  • Results-oriented with a strong sense of urgency and ability to manage numerous projects at one time.
  • A creative eye for spotting product and consumer trends.
