Maintenance Technician

This position is responsible for general building and property maintenance, including Cogeneration, Boilers, Chillers, HVAC, electrical, water purification, plumbing and mechanical systems, and equipment. The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the maintenance department as directed by the Facility Manager and for performing diversified duties within a highly progressive indoor greenhouse environment, to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production and facility equipment.
Key Accountabilities
· Ensures maintenance work is completed in a timely manner to minimize down time and provide uninterrupted service to facilities; and to avoid reactive maintenance and repairs wherever possible.

· Ensures efficient operation and maintenance of all facilities, including heating, cooling, plumbing, electrical systems, landscaping/snow removal and architectural/structural systems.

· Perform the repair, maintenance, rebuilding, and installation of equipment and machinery in the facility.

· Identify parts and supplies required for repairs, maintain parts inventory as needed, and inform the Inventory Control.

· Perform preventative maintenance tasks as scheduled and report results.

· Ensures daily maintenance checks are completed and documented.

· Ensures 24/7 coverage for response to maintenance related emergencies - scheduled on-call duty within 1 hour response time to Stevensville, Ontario Site.

· Communicate effectively with outside vendors and equipment manufacturers.

· Other duties as required.
Qualifications
· Post-secondary degree, diploma, or certification in related field of study preferred.

· Minimum three years’ experience in the maintenance of commercial property, including considerable knowledge of mechanical/electrical systems, water purification, Hot Water Boilers, Absorption Chillers, HVAC, and BAS systems

· Experience in operation of Cogeneration Systems preferred.

· Electrical background in controls preferred.

· Trades license preferred.

· Knowledge of Cannabis and Greenhouse industry best practices and standards preferred with the ability to troubleshoot, conduct analysis, establish programs and measures with specific knowledge in developing and implementing preventative maintenance plans.

· Knowledge of Occupational Health & Safety Act, WHMIS and Fire Code Regulations.

· Must be able to successfully complete background and reference checks

· Ability to successfully obtain CTLS designation from Health Canada

· Proficient in the use of computers and Microsoft applications such as Word, Outlook, and Excel.

Hours of Work
· 40 hours/week, possibly some weekends (hours may change based on operational needs)

Responsibilities include ensuring good customer service, supervision of staff, developing teamwork and maintaining good staff morale. The position may also assist in controlling stock levels and stock variances and ensuring acceptable levels of security in the store for both staff and physical assets. The Supervisor is expected to contribute to improve the Branch image by providing support of all Branch policies. The Supervisor is also involved in training staff, scheduling assignments, participating in all store duties, and may be involved in labor relations matters.</p><p>This position may require lifting liquor cases up to 50 lbs. to varying heights, standing at a cash register for extended periods of time and performing warehouse duties, including frequent bending and standing.
