The Assistant Store Manager is responsible for creating a world class customer experience for every customer through a strong emphasis on guest service, product and visual presentation, be an effective problem solver and possess an entrepreneurial spirit. Through coaching the Assistant Store Manager will motivate their team to provide superior customer service and in turn maximize sales.

The role reports to the Store Manager and works with store Lumenaries (budtenders) in carrying out all retail operations in the store, including, but not limited to, register operations, customer service, store appearance and displays, and employee interactions, and by performing other functions as assigned.

The Responsibilities

  • Supervise activities of the provisioning center team in conjunction with the Store Manager and Lead
  • Utilize, lead and deliver visual brand standards to present unique product mix offering
  • Create and reinforce a proactive selling culture that focuses on building a confident and competent team, in order to build a loyal customer following through clear and positive communication
  • Deal with issues that arise from employees or customers (complaints, grievances etc.)
  • Meet sales goals by training, motivating, mentoring and providing feedback to sales staff
  • Ensure high levels of customers satisfaction through excellent service
  • Complete store administration and ensure compliance with state regulations, policies and procedures
  • Maintain outstanding store condition and visual merchandising standards
  • Ensure the provisioning center remains compliant with security, inventory, and local and state regulations
  • Ensure the safety and satisfaction of both the patients and employees
  • Provide education for staff about medical cannabis strains, edibles, concentrates, and consumption mechanisms
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of products and strains in the store, as well as industry-wide product knowledge
  • Drive business results by maximizing daily sales plans, managing expenses and improving metrics through sales floor leadership
  • Be a shining example of well behavior and high performance

The Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in a retail management
  • 2+ years of cannabis related retail experience preferred
  • College degree preferred; High School diploma required
  • Minimum of 21 years of age
  • Must pass any and all required background checks
  • Proven successful experience as a retail leader
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills
  • Accountability for self and others
  • Balanced and intuitive decision making
  • Practical and proactive thinking
  • Maintain organized workplace

The Assistant Manager assumes final decision-making authority and accountability for the store during the absence of the Store Director and makes decisions based on current company and state operations, procedures, standards and laws.</p><p><b>Essential Functions: </b></p><p><b>Customer Service: </b></p><ul><li>Trains staff members on company-wide customer service standards and holds staff members accountable for compliance.</li><li>Conducts customer service reviews during Budtender Reviews and addresses as well as documents any coaching opportunities that arise.</li><li>Monitors online reviews and trains staff as needed in accordance with customer feedback.</li></ul><p><b>Driving Sales: </b></p><ul><li>Works closely with the Store Director and Retail Management Team to ensure the store is meeting or exceeding sales goals by reaching sales targets and adhering to market changes or demands.</li><li>Regularly reviews KPIs and related information and works with the Store Director to consistently meet sales targets.</li><li>Holds retail staff accountable for monthly sales targets and works with the Store Director to incentivize staff members per company direction.</li></ul><p><b>Staffing/Scheduling: </b></p><ul><li>Manages Budtenders actions day-to-day and works closely with the Store Director to ensure staffing needs are met by drafting monthly schedules.</li><li>Works with the Store Director and HR team to recruit and onboard new talent.</li><li>Documents HR concerns and termination and exit paperwork, as necessary.</li><li>Conducts Monthly and Bi-Annual Budtender Reviews with the Store Director to promote Budtender growth by discussing goals and holding staff accountable.</li></ul><p><b>Daily Operations: </b></p><ul><li>Follows company SOPs regarding cash handling by drafting daily sheets, filing, and organizing vendor orders, monitoring cash balances, organizing cash deposit pickups, submitting change orders, and conducting ATM refills.</li><li>Strives to meet company sales goals and trains staff on current promotions and incentives.</li><li>Daily inventory reconciliation and POS/METRC adjustments.</li><li>Works with the Store Director to implement company policies to help increase store performance such as: marketing, promotions, and community relations.</li><li>Manage METRC adjustments and POS reconciliations.</li><li>Creates and accepts manifests in METRC as needed.</li><li>Ensures daily opening and closing procedures are done to company standards by all staff members.</li></ul><p><b>Education and Experience Required: </b></p><ul><li>Minimum 21 years of age</li><li>Minimum 1+ years cannabis retail experience preferred</li><li>Maintain eligibility to work in the cannabis industry</li><li>Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field preferred</li><li>2+ years of management experience</li><li>Current active MED badge</li></ul><p><b>Knowledge and Other Required Qualifications: </b></p><ul><li>Knowledge and implementation of brand objectives.</li><li>Knowledge of general management principles and practices.</li><li>Ability to exercise discretionary authority.</li><li>Ability to identify and solve problems at the store level.</li><li>Ability to communicate effectively and develop effective working relationships with store customers, staff and Company leaders.</li><li>Knowledge of office equipment and computer software including word, excel, and POS.</li><li>Demonstrated ability to lead teams through change initiatives.</li><li>Ability to become subject matter expert in all current and future systems.</li><li>Ability to lead and develop teams to leverage systems to improve productivity.</li><li>Ability to carry / lift up to 40 pounds (100 pounds with assistance).</li></ul><p><b>Working Conditions </b>(Schedule, Environment, Travel)</p><ul><li>Hours will Vary Depending on the needs of the business.</li><li>Nights, Weekends, and Holidays are to be expected.</li></ul><p><b>Schwazze is committed to fairness and equality of opportunity in the workplace. </b>All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, national origin, genetics, disability, age, or veteran status.</p><p>Job Type: Full-time</p><p>Pay: $16.00 -
