The Junior Associate is responsible for mastering state Cannabis rules, interfacing with state regulatory officials, assisting clients applying for cannabis licenses, and helping licensees maintain regulatory compliance.

Requirements:

Essential Functions

• Proactively and continually monitor Cannabis industry legislative, regulatory, and policy developments in the states of New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut

• Mastery of New York Cannabis laws, regulations, and policies

• Determine the impact of legislative and regulatory changes for clients and provide detailed, timely, and accurate information and analyses regarding the impact

• Interface with regulatory officials

• Apply multiple research-related tools and techniques and be able to communicate legal analysis and findings using appropriate legal citations clearly and accurately

• Communicate complex Cannabis related laws in understandable language for Cannabis and non-Cannabis professionals, both internally and externally

• Attend Cannabis industry events and participate in networking groups

• Performs other duties and projects as assigned

Qualifications

• Juris Doctorate required

• 1-4 years of experience practicing law in one of the following fields: environment and natural resources law, tobacco or alcohol law, municipal law, utility contract law, cannabis law, or real estate law preferred

• Knowledge and experience in the Cannabis Industry preferred

• Licensed attorney in New York (additional bar licenses preferred)

• Strong interest and willingness to learn the complexities of state Cannabis laws

• Must have strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to work with clients, the public, and individuals at all levels of the organization in a positive, collaborative manner

• Experience with administrative platforms such as Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, Net Docs, Westlaw, DocuSign, and Clio preferred

• Exceptional organization skills, strong self-motivator with high attention to detail

• Excellent time and deadline management skills in a demanding environment, able to juggle multiple projects and reprioritize quickly and efficiently

• Excellent oral and written communication skills

• Must be able to uphold the highest standards of discretion, and confidentiality, and exercise good judgment on day-to-day decisions

The Part-time/Hourly Brand Agent acts as the face of our client's brands, and communicates the brand story, key selling points and benefits of the products to budtenders, conducts product demonstrations, and runs promotional events for dispensary customers.
