JOB SUMMARY

The Casino Licensing Specialist is responsible for reviewing and processing requests and/or applications for charitable casino events to ensure compliance with Alberta Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis (AGLC) policies and procedures. This position works extensively with the public and charitable stakeholders in a competent and professional manner. Reviews must be completed accurately and within policy guidelines. Considerable independent judgment and decision-making must be exercised to determine if licence applications comply with policy.
The successful candidate must have strong proficiency with Microsoft Office. Strong verbal and written communication skills are required to work with the public, regulatory bodies, and stakeholders to determine licensing requirements, issues, etc. The ability to prioritize workload and manage a high volume of work independently are essential attributes for this role. The ability to assess and process enquiries and documents of a complex nature are also key requirements of this position.


SKILLS/ABILITIES

  • Completion of high school.
  • Post - secondary education in a related field is an asset.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of related administrative experience.
  • Experience in a regulatory or licensing environment is considered an asset.

Develop &amp; maintain relationships with strategic staff &amp; executives at the MRA and act as the primary point person for all interactions with MRA, including site inspections and product related inquiries or adjustments. Has oversight on compliance in a GMP manufacturing setting including, OSHA, EHS and Quality Control. Oversee METRC compliance for all facilities Identifies potential areas of compliance vulnerability and risk; develops/implements corrective action plans for resolution of problematic issues and provides general guidance on how to avoid or deal with similar situations in the future. Monitor license status across all facilities and coordinate the renewal process.
