Our client, an Analytical Cannabis Testing Laboratory, is seeking a Lead Laboratory Microbiologist to join their team. You will need great organizational skills, to be able to work independently with little direction, and be a team player to communicate effectively with your team.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Knowledge of lab applications of microbiology

• Ability to use colony counters, incubators, autoclaves, and microscopes

• Proficient with selective plating, aseptic techniques, gram staining, light microscopy, quantitative polymerase chain reaction techniques

• Compliance with all New York state requirements

• Set up and maintain molecular biology equipment

• Isolate and maintain cultures of bacteria or other microorganisms in prescribed or developed media, controlling moisture, aeration, temperature, and nutrition

• Study growth, structure, development and general characteristics of bacteria and other microorganisms

• Examine physiological, morphological, cultural characteristics and use testing instruments to identify and classify microorganisms obtained from customer samples

• Conduct quality control tests

• Maintain laboratory instruments to ensure proper working order and troubleshoot malfunctions when needed

• Prepare test solutions, compounds or reagents for laboratory employees to conduct tests

• Evaluate laboratory safety procedures to ensure compliance

• Write and update SOPs, technical papers and reports for processes, facilities, products, or tests

• Maintain workflow and turn-around-time for customer samples

• Maintain quality control of micro area and consumables

• Create and execute method validation plans

EDUCATION:

• Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology, or Biochemistry

• Over 5 years of microbiology lab experience

• Cannabis testing lab or environmental lab experience in New York State

• Supervisory experience

COMPENSATION: $71,500 to $82,500 plus benefits

No matter what it is you’re looking for, our expert staff is always here to guide you along the way.</p><p><b>Position Summary: </b></p><p>Provides manual labor to support the activities and operations of the Cultivation Department, while abiding by policies, procedures, and operational guidelines.</p><p><b>Essential Duties and Responsibilities: </b></p><p>· Assist with the coordination of all grow operations including: Daily Activities, Quality Assurance, Potting, Manicuring, Harvesting, and Trimming as well as assuring compliance with local, state, and federal licensing requirements.</p><p>· Responsible for executing assigned tasks, projects, and expectations in accordance with Freedom Road Garden’s mission, vision, goals, and objectives.</p><p>· Responsible for completing any work assigned to them during their scheduled shift, as well as information sharing: Maintain open communication with the management team and other co-workers and report employee issues or product situations.</p><p>· Responsible for following all operational guidelines, verbal directives, training information and policies when performing duties.</p><p>· Responsible for performing detailed manicuring of plant materials, running the trim machine, sorting trim, weighing, and recording all plant material and waste accurately.</p><p>· Other duties as assigned by supervisor.</p><p><b>Minimum Qualifications: </b></p><p>· Knowledge and adherence to the policies, procedures and goals of Freedom Road Garden and its clients.</p><p>· Ability to listen well and communicate effectively orally and in writing with various audiences.</p><p>· Basic math skills and ability to properly operate a scale.</p><p>· Understanding of applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations as they pertain to the industry, personnel law, safety regulations, local municipal codes and organizational rules, regulations, directives and standard operating procedures.</p><p>· Ability to work independently throughout a workday with given directives.</p><p>· Ability to work well in a Team Oriented Environment.</p><p><b>Work Environment-</b></p><p>This job operates in a greenhouse environment. Conditions are often humid, hot, and bright. Standard gardening equipment is often used in this job.</p><p><b>Physical Demands-</b></p><p>This is an active position requiring regular standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, and climbing all day. The position requires talking and hearing as well as visual activity. Employees must frequently lift and move items weighing up to 50 lbs.</p><p><b>Expected Hours of Work-</b></p><p>Days and hours of work may vary by scheduling or seasonal needs.
